The Payments Risk team’s goal is to prevent risky transactions with high accuracy while also ensuring a great user experience. As an analyst, you’ll spend your time scrutinizing transactions and building effective monitoring for fraud detection and prevention on one of our critical payment rails. 

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Own the mobile payment systems risk process from end to end.
  • Review high-risk mobile purchases for potential fraud, investigate anomalous activity and develop remediation plans
  • Monitor dashboards to ensure key metrics are within target.
  • Proactively identify gaps in our monitoring and prevention.
  • Propose and drive forward rule and process changes.
  • Collaborate on fraud mitigation strategies and processes with a cross-functional team from Product, Engineering, and CX.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Working knowledge of mobile payment systems (ie: ApplePay, GooglePay, etc), the chargeback lifecycle, familiarity with card issuer fraud programs, and a broad understanding of card fraud. 
  • B.A./B.S. Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience fighting fraud in an e-commerce or banking environment.
  • Minimum 1 year working in an independent investigative role.
  • The curiosity to self-drive investigations, identify patterns, and find the root cause.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to drive change
  • A passion for fighting fraud.
  • A demonstrated history of using data to investigate, communicate, and remediate.
  • Experience in data analyses using SQL.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with Looker, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with GitHub, JIRA, and Google Workspace apps
  • Comfort working with basic coding and markup languages
  • A mind toward automation
  • Knowledge of relevant banking regulations (Reg E and UDAAP)
  • An understanding of blockchain analytics and/or fraud trends within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
