We are looking for Oracle DBA for an immediate need. This is a client-facing role & the candidate will have regular interactions with various client managers.
Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Database design, development, configuration, Upgrading, Migration, Patching, Performance Tuning, Standby DR, Golden Gate management, all kind of Backups and Recoveries, refreshes, Cloning, database security.
  • Extensive hands-on experience of Cloud databases platforms like AWS Aurora Postgres, Redshift, Oracle to support high volume OLTP & DW systems.
  • Ensure 24x7 availability for critical database systems hosted on premise and on AWS.
  • Implementation, maintenance and enforcement of effective industry standard processes and policies within our QA, DEV and Production environments.
  • Lead and participate in the architecture and design of databases to support critical applications.
  • Engage with Apps Dev, and other technical teams to implement solutions.
  • Work with managers and staff of AppsDev teams to follow tactical and strategic directions.
  • Partner with Business unit partners and prioritize work based on the project needs and work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Provide routine status reports to leadership and escalate as necessary.
  • Adopt to changing technology environment and embrace newer platforms to support.
  • Work in an agile environment and engage in DevOps practices.
  • Works closely with other Cloud and Data Center Management staff to ensure departmental consistency.
  • Configured and migrated DBs in AWS RDS Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora.
  • Define AWS cloud security standards in partnership with Risk and Compliance, Engineering, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development. Assist in setting the strategic AWS security direction and approach for utilizing new technologies.
  • Accomplished communication skilled in building and strengthening relationships across functions to drive cohesive and strategic IT operations.
  • Understanding and ability to work with IaC, CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Aws Lambda, Ansible, Jenkins.
  • Experience of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB.
  • Working on scripting languages such as shell, python for automation purpose.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with data replication tools such as Goldengate.
  • Good judgment, prompt decision-making ability, responsibility, and accountability.
  • Oracle 11g/12c/19c ddatabase Architecture, data management, installation, administration, cloud DB migration, configuration, upgrades, patches, and performance tuning. Highly instrumental in delivering Oracle 19c, 12CR1&2, 11g, 10g RAC 24/7 production support, implementing backup and recovery procedures using RMAN, Commvault tool and Export/import, space management, database security, cloning, migration, shell scripting, and documentation.
  • Specialization in configuring and maintaining very large Databases and Data Warehouse environments, Backup/Recovery using RMAN and high availability procedures like Standby Databases and Clustered database environments.
  • Implement Oracle Enterprise Manager (12c/13c) for centralized monitoring and administration.
  • Database upgrade using golden gate with zero downtime and setup golden gate in environment, which require real time data replication.
  • Creating database design document and creating ER diagrams, providing conceptual and logical data model and translating into physical database.
  • Responsible for configuring database memory structure, managing storage allocation, creating user accounts, roles and privileges for DB operations and security maintenance.
  • Experience in Building, maintaining Oracle Data Guard Physical Standby Database and providing critical solution with strategic disaster recovery plans.
  • Configure service now dashboard to present all type of reporting (Daily/weekly/Monthly) incident, change and service-now request threshold for reporting to client Managers and stakeholders.
  • As part of core management team, evaluated Amazon RDS services (Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL), DynamoDB and Redshift for migrating & Leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) as our Cloud solution partner for our critical applications.
  • General understanding of networking and allocating system storage and planning storage requirements for the database system.
  • Knowledge on DevOps and AWS Cloud Technology like EC2, VPC, S3, Glacier, IAM, ELB, EFS, AWS Kinesis, Lambda, Cloud Front, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift.
  • Working closely with testing and development teams in identifying and fixing performance issues (I/O, Memory & SQL Tuning) by using tools/utilities like TKPROF, SQL PROFILE Automated Workload Repository (AWR), Automatic Database Diagnostics Monitor (ADDM) and (Automatic Diagnostic Repository) ADR.
  • Experience in Building, maintaining Oracle Data Guard Physical Standby Database and providing critical solution with strategic disaster recovery plans.
  • Ability to envision and create automation for provisioning and administration tasks.
  • Having Oracle, AWS and ITIL certification.
