Farmer’s Fridge is on a mission to make it simple for everyone to eat well. We serve healthy, handcrafted meals and snacks from our growing network of 400+ software-enabled vending machines that we refer to as smart Fridges, a direct-to-consumer business, and a growing network of wholesale partnerships. We are striving to change the food system from the ground up – one jar at a time.

We are a team that cares -– about the business, the impact our product makes, and each other. We are data-driven, innovative, and quick to move on a good idea. We are looking for people who want to collaborate in an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture and have a passion to succeed.

About the role:

As an Operations Analyst at Farmer’s Fridge, you will help tackle some of our biggest challenges, working as a cross-functional problem-solver and project lead. With a dedicated focus on Menu R&D, Quality, and Product Integrity projects, you’ll serve as a champion for operational excellence as you work to establish the systems and processes necessary to ensure product quality and consistency at scale. In addition to analyzing data and driving improvements to current processes, you'll also help create new ones from scratch and set the standard as we grow.

What kind of person are we looking for?

  • Thoughtful, analytical, and humble.  The chance to solve a new puzzle is what gets you out of bed in the morning.  You are as comfortable building spreadsheets and process flows as you are on a manufacturing floor helping manage critical growth projects with our production team.
  • You are efficiency minded, and get excited by the idea of creating order out of chaos.
  • You are creative, flexible, and supremely detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture or ultimate goal.  It would never occur to you to say, “that’s not my job”.
  • Oh, and also, you love fresh food and are demonstrably passionate about our mission to improve people’s lives through 24/7 access to food you can trust!

In a typical week, you will…

  • Drive critical projects and partner with Menu R&D, QFS, Production, and Distribution teams to identify gaps and implement changes to continuously improve processes in our production facility and beyond
  • Analyze current processes, recommend solutions, and implement strategies to help the business grow and scale
  • Identify necessary metrics, data and tools to support scale and consistency – and be comfortable building what we don’t have
  • Develop SOPs, tools, and processes to support efficient and safe operations as we scale
  • Work cross functionally, and within operations, to drive understanding and support of new systems and processes (from floor operators to leadership)
  • Build processes to collect, analyze and articulate operational data in a meaningful and impactful way
  • Examples of potential projects could include: creating a quality dashboard and process for providing trends and necessary corrective actions to our production team, gap assessments on quality and food safety processes to inform streamlined improvements, identify gaps in our cold chain distribution process to improve product quality in new channels and markets

Minimum Work and Education Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree, preferably in engineering and/or operations management, and/or a management consulting background preferred.
  • At least 1 to 5 years of work experience working on improvement oriented initiatives.
  • A demonstrated track record of working on projects related to continuous improvement and change management.
  • Prior demonstrated experience working in a high-growth, rapid change environment
  • Advanced abilities in working with and using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and G Suite.
  • Some data analytics abilities or a willingness to learn data visualization tools (Tableau).
  • Able to operate in ambiguous situations and be flexible as the organization changes and grows.
  • A deep passion for food and the Farmer's Fridge mission to improve people’s lives through making it more convenient to eat healthy.

Who You Are:

  • Detail Oriented! You leave no stone unturned. You make sure all Excel formulas, KPIs, and reports are 100% accurate. A relentless attention to detail and accuracy is a must have for this role!
  • A Problem Solver. You enjoy tackling obstacles. You have the ability to understand issues from multiple angles and uncover the best path forward
  • A Communicator. You can convey ideas clearly and effectively; however, your secret power is listening and understanding
  • Improvement Oriented. You have the proven ability to learn new skills quickly and an eye for optimization
  • Self-Driven. You are a highly motivated self-starter who can think independently yet work as a team player in a cross-functional and highly collaborative environment.
  • Egoless. You know that the best way to innovate is through teamwork. You are humble and eager to solve problems by learning from and collaborating with others.
  • Fearless of Pressure. You work well under pressure and are focused on delivering timely results and hitting tight deadlines.

Benefits at Farmer's Fridge:

Bring your unique self to work, dress comfortably, and always feel free to share your thoughts and opinions. During your break - Never run on empty by enjoying daily Farmer’s Fridge meals, challenging a coworker to a game of ping pong, de-stressing by taking a spin on our Nascar arcade game, or spending your break on one of our comfy couches.

Innovate & Elevate - We're all teachers and learners. You'll grow, and help grow the company through cross-functional collaboration, open access to leadership, and regular business updates. You have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You can also impact your bottom line participating in our 401(k) plan that includes a company match with immediate vesting, and you'll succeed alongside our business with our bonus and equity plans.
