Mgr. Sales & Incentive Comp
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Sales & Incent Comp Analytics manages a team of Commission Reporting Sales and Incentive Comp Analysts and Sr Sales and Incentive Comp. Commission Reporting Analysts responsible for the interpretation, analysis, and distribution of commission related data. This position collaborates with Sales and Incentive Compensation Design and Administration leadership to understand commission plan calculations and , expected outputs, to and generate data reporting suites which provide insight into accrual activity those outputs, and to ensure commission component effectiveness, and proper audit and validation of system outputs. This role requires an expertise in understanding how analytical solutions and data can be leveraged to produce effective and accurate results, and trending compensation related metrics for each business unit supported, and evaluating commission system effectiveness. The Manager, Sales & Incent Comp Analytics works also with Sales Channel leadership, Commission Systems, IT Accounting, and Business Planning groups to deliver data and the analytics behind it.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with data in a given commission system and performs recurring analysis on that data sets
- Supports the Sales and Comp Design and Administration functions with clear analyses, collects, analyzes and reports management data to support decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning and specific business performance or system issues
- Performs data mining (including data auditing, aggregation, validation and reconciliation). Collates, models, interprets and analyzes data; explains variances and trends. Identifies and documents enhancements to modeling techniques
- Performs Accounting accrual activities and narrative to show month over month trends for payment activity
- Aids in the development of manual calculation methods in Access and Excel, as needed
- Communicates complex findings and ideas in plain language
- Works within teams towards a shared goal

- Captures the tactical and strategic enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance for commission administration
- Defines, streamlines, standardizes the data shared across the enterprise and the relationships between those data elements
- Utilizes advanced modelling techniques, testing and creating and explaining results in clear and concise reports
- Performs other duties as required

- Industry knowledge of Communications / Media in a least 1 functional area: HR Payroll, Tax, Risk, GL, AP, AR, Sales Compensation, Sales Operations, Sales Channel Performance
- Knowledge of real-time analytics and business intelligence platforms Ability to work with SQL databases, ETL tools and several programming languages such as MS SQL Server, Cognos, BOBJ, Tableau, Teradata, MicroStrategy, Oracle Suite, JDE, PS, and other ERPs
- Ability to use very large data sets and to come up with the questions that can help creating management reports
Education
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business administration, economics or finance
