About the job
The Red Hat IT team is looking for a passionate Master Data Management Specialist to join our Master Data Management (MDM) program. In this role, you will be answering critical business and technical questions and problems with data. You will be responsible for ensuring business and technical stakeholders understand master data under management and what use cases it can facilitate. You are expected to quickly understand the business operations of Red Hat, especially around product, customer, partner and contact management. You are expected to be the subject matter expert on what master data Red Hat needs and what it currently has. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Be responsible for answering key business and technical use cases related to the MDM program with data
  • Lead processes to implement and validate programs to improve master data data quality and its utilization
  • Serve as the main point of contact with business and other technical teams to ensure their master data expectations and requirements are understood
  • Collaborate with teams to discuss business requirements for new master data related initiatives
  • Partner with other members of the MDM team to document business requirements, data KPIs, test cases, and dashboards
  • Meet with internal teams to discuss data needs; ensure the master data story is understood by all functions within the organization
  • Partner with Data Scientists to develop deep insights and communicate those to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Maintain and improve best practices around data mining and visualization


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or similar field with 6+ years of overall experience; Master's in similar field is a big plus
  • 4+ years of experience in the fields of master data management, data quality analysis and remediation, data analysis, or data stewardship
  • 2+ years of Informatica MDM experience, especially in the role of a systems or data analyst
  • 3+ years of practical experience using programming languages like SQL, Python, or R
  • Experience with data visualization software (Tableau, Pentaho)
  • Experience working in a team comprising of internal and external (third-party) members
  • Experience with Data Privacy and Security protocols
  • Experience in or have an understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements like GDPR, CCPA, and TCPA
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a cross-functional team environment and work as part of a team
  • Ability to influence diverse audiences and build solid partnerships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines
  • Motivated with ability to handle ambiguity and bring clarity and vision to such situations
  • Knowledge of and experience with data governance and metadata management (lineage, taxonomies, aliases, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with strategic focus
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including ability to communicate across various lines of business
  • Cross-functional knowledge of product engineering and support, finance, sales, marketing, and operations and their use of data
  • Solid attention to detail and accuracy with excellent follow-through skills
  • Experience working in an environment with customer relationship management (CRM) like Salesforce.com (SFDC), enterprise resource planning (ERP) e.g., Oracle, and data lake or data warehouse applications is a big plus
  • Practical experience with Informatica Data Quality is is a plus
