About the job
The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Market Data Analyst to join us. In this role, you will drive data analysis, data manipulation, and reports for primary and secondary research. You'll collect data on customer challenges, market and technology trends, thought leadership topics, and IT spending and priorities. In addition, you'll analyze and synthesize market data, present findings, and provide actionable insights.
What you will do

  • Be responsible for designing and programming data research tools, analytics tools and web portals, providing continual improvements
  • Collect, analyze, visualize, and report customer and market research data using hypothesis testing, simple and multiple regression, inferential statistics, as well as programming and data mining software including MySQL, Python, R, T, XLStat, SPSS, SAS, and Query
  • Analyze and synthesize market data from single or multiple sources and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Design and program market research surveys, analytics tools, data visualization tools and web portal
  • Evaluate current market data collection and reporting processes and tools to make continual improvements
  • Work with outside vendors and multiple stakeholders across Red Hat to build and execute market surveys of users in Red Hat's customer base and target markets
  • Evaluate multiple analysis, dashboards, and other tools to determine the most efficient and effective ways to deliver insights to internal stakeholders, including Qualtrics, Tableau, Google Data Studio, Klue, and Google Forms
  • Analyze the feedback of internal communication programs and tools, including PnT Leadership Exchange, Mojo access for dashboards, and sales access to Red Hat's competitive tool Klue
  • Build a dashboard that provides product marketing, product management, and analyst reports to business owners by market categories and themes, allowing key stakeholders to access market positioning information
  • Collect data from Salesforce to identify opportunities in the pipeline that are likely to close, and work with the Enterprise Data Applications team (EDA) to update deals into the win-loss program
  • Access and analyze industry news items through Klue and analyst reports via other publication channels
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (8:00am to 5:00pm)


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in marketing, advertising, media, or a related field and 6+ months of experience in the job offered or related role
  • 6+ months of experience with: applying quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to gather insights from data, like description analysis, hypothesis testing, simple and multiple regression, and inferential statistics; multivariate and A/B testing, digital revenue attribution, customer segmentation, factor and key driver analysis, cluster analysis, multiple discriminant analysis, correspondence analysis, and marketing effectiveness advanced analytic and statistical techniques; converting complex data and findings into understandable, visual reports and actionable insights; building and automating management level reporting by connecting various data sources and backend systems, including CRM Salesforce, sales enablement HighSpot, and Klue, and customer engagement Eloqua; Tableau or PowerBI; web design and front-end web development experience using HTML, Java, Javascript, JQuery, React, REST API, and CSS; Drupal, Jive, Igloo, HighSpot, Klue, and Aprimo content management platforms; segmenting and analyzing the enterprise technology market; Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms in Google office suite; working independently, and collaborating across multiple teams in a dynamic and fast-growing environment
  • Willingness to travel required 10% of the time; travel expenses reimbursed by Red Hat, Inc.
