Market & Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing marketing and business intelligence support within Georgia Power's Customer Solutions organization. The analyst will deliver customized market intelligence activities -- which may include primary research, secondary research, and data analysis activities - that help teams within the Customer Solutions organization anticipate market conditions and make more informed decisions so they can reach their goals of increased revenues, net income growth, high customer satisfaction, and low brand risk. These teams include Managed Accounts, Utility Services, Lighting, Electric Transportation, Connectivity and Renewable Customer Engagement.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Four-year degree required in Market Research, Marketing, Business, Communications, Data Analytics, Business Analytics or related field
  • Experience: 3 years of full-time experience in marketing research, business intelligence or related field
  • Understanding of marketing research (both primary and secondary) and data analysis methods
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate with others at all knowledge and position levels
  • Ability to develop strategy, implement tactics, and leverage tools to deliver high-quality marketing research work product to internal clients
  • Ability to effectively gather and synthesize potentially large amounts of information/data from disparate sources and translate it to actions the company should take
  • Understanding of marketing campaign strategy, tactics and concepts including lead generation, product awareness, product enrollment and conversion rate optimization
  • Ability to think analytically to understand how to gather, interpret and apply findings aimed at product/program growth in all areas of the product lifecycle
  • Ability to interpret data, derive insights, report findings and make actionable fact-based recommendations.
  • Understanding of financial indicators (including Net Income, EBIT, Gross Margin, CapX, etc.)and ability to read and communicate P&L statements
  • Familiarity with external marketing research firms, tools, or resources
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team environment to build coalitions, engage & influence others, and potentially lead cross-functional teams
  • High level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation software
  • Strong planning and coordination skills with ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct and communicate research and analysis focused on company, industry, market, and financial information within Georgia Power's Customer Solutions organization
  • Responsibilities may include:
  • supporting development of proposals and RFPs
  • conducting market assessments and competitive analyses
  • preparing market intelligence reports
  • writing profiles of commercial/industrial customers
  • producing data analysis on market size and market projections
  • researching customer pain points
  • developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) around product performance
  • identifying meaningful trends and synthesizing them into growth strategies
  • Effectively communicate research and analysis to client groups, peers, mid-level management, and executive management regarding business intelligence
  • Provide guidance and consultation directly to stakeholders across Customer Solutions and partners
  • Assist in the internal goal-setting process
  • Manage Market Intelligence subscriptions, research repository (including access & client training), and vendor relationships
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for data and analysis from partnering organizations and leadership
