Job Description:

Datasite is growing and looking for a bright, energetic and motivated candidate to join our team. We are looking for a Manager who is excited to roll-up their sleeves and develop processes that will scale with our growth. A successful leader in this role is someone who can work independently but also enjoys working cross functionally with business, operations and technical colleagues to develop technical processes. The Reporting and Analytics is a manager level accountant who can efficiently and professionally handle the reporting needs and analysis within the department, to assist the board, executives, auditor(s), peers, and managers. This role will work collaboratively and cross functionally with other team members in sales, accounting, finance, billing, product, and marketing. Qualified candidates will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

This position is an integral team member of the Finance team and supports to the Corporate Controller and all aspects of the reporting process. Success in this role requires strong teamwork and collaborative skills to work and communicate across functional teams such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Procurement, and Financial Systems. An independent self-starter with strong attention to details and the ability to understand transaction workflows are key to success. Experience with foreign currency would be beneficial. Seeking a candidate who enjoys reporting, solid accounting experience combined with strong analytical skills and is unafraid of change and excited to be involved with a new ERP implementation. The individual in this role will need to be adaptable, especially over the next two years, as the work will evolve as we undertake a transformative journey to a new ERP.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Sets team direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to members of Corporate Accounting & Reporting team.
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges.
  • Influences or provides input to forecasting and planning activities.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support cost center owners
    • Cost center report
    • Headcount and other pertinent analytics
  • Daily review of Balance Sheet and Income Statement by legal entity during close for proper accounting treatment.
    • Accountable for Balance Sheet flux documentation and review with accountable accountants
    • Accountable for Income statement flux documentation and review
    • Transaction cost review/analysis for compliance
    • Non-GAAP accounting review and understanding of EBITDA items
    • Cost center reporting reviews with applicable cost center reclasses
    • Review assumptions
    • Document for compliance
  • This role would complete monthly financial reporting, analyze results, identify issues and provide insights.
  • Prepares/Reviews monthly flash financials for management.
  • Provide detailed financial statement account analysis (e.g., balance sheet fluctuation) by researching and analyzing accounts while understanding current M&A market conditions for management and external auditors.
  • Covenant compliance understanding and support.
  • Owns all supporting documentation for all financial presentations to Board of Directors, lenders, and executive management.
    • Reviews consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
    • Coordinate data collection process with business units and corporate functions including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR and Shared Services.
    • Reviews statement of cash flows including the effect of foreign currency exchange rate changes.
  • Analyze, manage, and review monthly P&L results and variance explanations, preparing comments against budget and prior year, suggesting corrective measures.
  • Communicate financial information in a concise and accessible manner to non-finance personnel and management.
  • Develop impactful, compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, backup materials, etc.) that effectively communicates financial projections, drivers, business performance, risks and opportunities to leadership.
  • Support in automating monthly reports to cut down on the cycle time for report sharing.
  • Support in bridging the actuals in the financials every month.
  • Maintain Variance Analysis framework and create "Variance Walks" to provide context to monthly, quarterly and annual variances.
  • Identify and track key Operating Expense drivers to provide visibility with high data integrity and repeatability.
  • Drive development and continuous iteration of processes, systems and infrastructure with clear roles/responsibilities/ownership
  • Collect and provide information to external auditors for quarterly and annual audit requests.
  • Analyzes and verifies information and develops spreadsheet reports.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Perform additional process improvements, ad-hoc analysis and other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Understand transactional workflow, be knowledgeable about the sources of data, ensure data integrity and collaborate with relevant parties for necessary adjustments.
  • Update and maintain process documentation for accounting processes.
  • There would also be ad-hoc project work
  • Ensure compliance with all company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Responsibilities are subject to change.



Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned

Develop and Manage Accounting Personnel

  • Position will have direct reports based upon functional areas of oversight
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
    • planning, assigning, and directing work;
    • appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
    • addressing complaints and resolving problems.



Essential Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, CPA preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
  • 8-12 years' professional accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in managing goals through collaboration and teamwork with the ability to work independently.
  • Self-Motivated and superior organization skills with the ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks.
  • High regard for confidential information and excellent professional judgement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide information and documentation related to revenue.
  • Provide high quality customer service through highly accurate technical work as well as excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Thrives and is comfortable with autonomy and accountability
  • Critical thinking and logical reasoning skills, including complex problem solving, troubleshooting and decision making
  • Ability to adapt to change and identify process improvements.
  • Ability to manage and manipulate large amounts of data from multiple sources and systems.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to present technical, numerical, complex data to stakeholders in an effective and persuasive manner
  • Ability to communicate and train others on key business drivers.
  • Visionary with sound analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • Possess excellent organization skills and detail orientation.
  • Flexible work hours necessary to accommodate critical deadlines and international business needs.
  • System/reporting experience in Adaptive, Hyperion, SalesForce and Workday beneficial but not necessary.
  • Hybrid remote arrangement acceptable.
  • Minimal travel required
