Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for an Internal Audit Data Analytics & Automation Manager. This role will lead and manage all internal audit’s data analytics activities and immediately step into the support and roll out of data structured governance across the enterprise. Chewy’s Internal Audit department mission is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. In a demanding high-performance environment designed for high-caliber individuals seeking growth and career advancement, IA’s team members gain valuable experience and in-depth knowledge of the information technology (IT), product innovation, finance, compliance, and operational areas of the Company by working on a wide range of assurance and advisory activities. We are seeking a Data Analytics and Automation Lead to help lead the IA team’s data analytics, conversion of the environment to Continuous Control Monitoring and robotic process automation (RPA) initiatives, primarily focused on assessing risk and providing assurance and business insights. This position will report to and work closely with the Head of Internal Audit and all leaders in the IA’s department. The position will manage and support complex and highly visible engagements and develop strong working relationships with management. The position will support opportunities to utilize innovative ways to audit through analytics and automation. The position will be based in one of the following locations: Dania Beach, FL; Boston, MA; Seattle, WA.

What You'll Do:

  • Establish IA’s data analytics road map including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities, interconnectedness with other platforms and rolling out new data focused capabilities for internal audit and the business;
  • Lead efforts effectively to build the IA’s data analytics roadmap and enhance our audit capability using data analytics and automation;
  • In conjunction with the Head of Internal Audit, provide visibility to leadership and Audit Committee around the implementation and status of the IA’s Data Analytics strategy and roadmap;
  • Collaborate with IA’s team members to design, build and utilize data analytics throughout the audit and advisory project lifecycle (risk assessment, planning, fieldwork, and reporting);
  • Learn and apply statistical models that are relevant to an audit and risk management function;
  • Work with IT and Business Intelligence teams to utilize the enterprise data warehouse and build scalable data analytics solutions for the IA team, including continuous auditing and monitoring programs;
  • Document process flows, requirements, and/or manuals for each analytic created;
  • Train IA team members or the Business to use the analytics. Provide support and troubleshoot problems;
  • Identify ways to automate and enhance activities performed by the IA team to improve efficiency and/or add value;
  • Act as a champion for the data analytics tools and applications utilized by the IA team and provide on-going support to the team members;
  • Partner with other Data Analytics teams within Chewy to identify the latest tools and methodologies. Leverage the information to improve the IA’s data analytics program;
  • Stay up to date on technology trends and inform IA and Management of emerging trends and best practices in the use of analytics and automation for governance, risk and compliance;
  • Identify new opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness through automation, new technology integration and effective use of current data resources;
  • Supports the roll out of Privacy and Security policies across enterprise platforms;
  • Analyze the impact of proposed solutions holistically, develop use cases to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to technical teams, and contribute a business or process perspective during design reviews.

What You'll Need:

  • Strong background in Data Analytics 3+ years in business or IT role preferred, minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics and automation; data analytics expertise is required, and a combination of business and audit experience is desired;
  • Direct and demonstrable experience in data analytics, governance, and data management;
  • Strong understanding of Center of Excellence (COE) and best in class data analytics and automation processes and procedures;
  • Expertise in creating data analytics reports and visual dashboards to provide insights;
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience to lead a strong data analytics team;
  • Knowledge of industry leading data analytics/automation practices;
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving company environment, to easily adapt between working independently (with minimal direction) or collaboratively on a team (with various stakeholders and varied personalities), to be effective in new situations, and to work comfortably in ambiguity on unstructured projects and in a multi-tasking environment
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design;
  • Bachelors or master’s in computer science, MIS, Information Management, or commensurate work experience;
  • Experience with one or more of the following data analytics/automation tools and programming languages: SQL queries, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, UiPath, Python, R, Java or similar
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to build trust through collaboration, professionalism, trust, credibility, and influence
  • Commitment to quality, willingness to challenge current practice and innovate, and continuous improvement mindset
  • Self-motivated, flexible, proactive, rapid learner and responsive; possesses passion, energy, enthusiasm to drive results; action oriented; views challenges as opportunities; tenacious and focused
  • Knowledge of ECommerce business processes and system processes;
  • Position may require travel
