Reporting to the Director of Analytics, you will be primarily responsible for increasing transparency, understanding and accessibility of data by non-technical users. You will thrive on autonomy, identify opportunities, and be passionate about taking our analytics capabilities to the next level through practical and structured approaches to data dissemination, visualization and modeling. Your measures of success will be stakeholder satisfaction, and the adoption and reliability of data resources, such as BI reports and standardized datasets. As the third member of a centralized team, you will have a unique opportunity to own and implement solutions to address a diverse set of data challenges, which enable the democratization of high quality data throughout the organization. 

You will...

  • Seek to deeply understand the needs of our data users, the nuances of our data sources, and build trust across a diverse set of cross-functional stakeholders 
  • Maintain and build new curated, flexible, datasets and dashboards that support departments across the company 
  • Enable and encourage data users to explore and garner insights from those datasets and dashboards through training and documentation
  • Collaborate with data engineering on data pipelines, data tools, and data warehousing, and learn how to identify and resolve data disparity issues independently, as appropriate
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries and implement solutions to enable non-technical end-users to answer, independently, in the future 
  • Align, define and implement key metrics and data classifications
  • Create policies and procedures, including automated testing, to ensure data quality
  • Design and implement a transparent intake process for a growing number of stakeholders, and regularly, set expectations with those stakeholders
  • Help build and mentor a small data team

You have…

  • High level of accountability, customer-focused, consultative approach with stakeholders, comfort building expertise w/ new tools, and the ability to independently execute against goals
  • Some years of experience as an analytics manager, leveraging technologies like DBT (data build tool), Snowflake, BigQuery, RDS, and Redshift 
  • Some years of experience creating highly adopted, performant and intuitive dashboards with BI tools like Looker, Quicksight, or Tableau
  • Experience mentoring and managing data team members
  • Defined quality assurance/documentation standards and methodologies
  • Strong project management and organizational skills 
  • High level of proficiency w/ SQL and relational databases 
  • An understanding of how to apply statistical and data warehousing concepts
  • Interest or experience with the following: Fivetran, Stitch, Two-sided marketplace metrics, A/B Testing, Git, Data Governance principles, Data Security Practices
