We are searching for an innovative Manager, Data Analytics to join our experienced team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to directly impact and mentor team analysts, while building relationships with stakeholders. This position is predominantly responsible for partnering with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization. Other roles involved will include serving as a Scrum Master to the team and product owner, producing and managing the delivery of artifacts/activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients. Team members will typically use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with government health plan business leadership to manage user stories and project commitments in an agile framework to rapidly deliver value to our customers
  • Coordinates work activities with manager/product owner to ensure prioritization of solutions (e.g., health plan ad hoc audit report)
  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems while sharing lessons to the greater community of practice
  • Solves complex problems and/or conducts complex analyses within your team of high skilled analysts as solutions are iterated upon and value is delivered to the business/market
  • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Provides management with statistical findings and conclusions in analyzing interpreting trends and root cause analysis
  • Understand how various data elements and subject areas are utilized for reporting
  • Anticipates operational needs and proactively works with business and team members to find best solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience developing in PL/SQL with Oracle or SQL Server and/or TOAD
  • 3+ years of experience solutioning with Agile methodologies
  • 3+ years of experience with client relations/customer service
  • Experience managing, developing and supporting a team of Direct and Non Direct Subject Matter Experts


Preferred Qualifcations:

  • Experience/Certified as a Scrum Master
  • Experience in Talend, Tableau, Python, Crystal Reports, Azure, AWS, DataBricks and/or Snowflake
  • Background in healthcare insurance industry within government programs (i.e., Medicaid and Medicare products)
  • Ability to demonstrate key successes on business solutions derived from analysis and deep learning
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
