We are looking for a Consumer Insights Manager who will join our Marketing Team. Remote applicants welcome.

Are you innately curious, passionate about deeply understanding consumers and pushing beyond facts for game-changing insights? Are you excited about working on a diversified portfolio of legacy and disruptor brands? Do you want to work on the challenge of building brands/products that will win with existing consumers and bring new consumers into the category? If so, you may be the right person to join the Consumer Insights team at Scotts Miracle-Gro.

The Consumer Insights Manager plays a critical role within Marketing, translating research findings and trends into actionable insights. They represent the voice of the consumer in business decisions and identify opportunities for audience targeting, positioning and innovation based on consumer needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to the brand teams by leading the
  consumer learning agenda to address business questions and fill knowledge gaps.
• Utilize primary, secondary research as well as social listening & contact center data to provide business insights,
  recommendations and thought leadership. Effectively utilize trends data and other secondary sources to "connect the dots" and recommend marketplace opportunities.
• Consult on business questions / lead project scoping to ensure a clear and actionable research brief identifying the right
  methodology and research partner.
• Execute research projects that deliver against objectives and build impactful, visually engaging presentations to drive action.
• Evangelize and socialize consumer insights throughout the entire organization to build a consumer obsessed and empathic culture.

Desired Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience producing high quality, well-regarded
  insights work.
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
• Proven track record of actionable insights work, including
  compelling and motivating storytelling
• Extensive experience in building strategic partnerships with critical stakeholders including brand, innovation, sales, R&D teams & agency partners.
• An openness to challenge the norm and find new ways of
  answering tough questions.
• Experience working with third party suppliers ensuring they are aligned to our key deliverables and driving impactful outcomes.
• Interest/experience in 'DIY' market research tools such as Suzy & Qualtrics.
