Assist in the day-to-day management, operation, and planning of the Business Analysis group. Be a leader, problem solver and supervisor to Business Analyst staff to ensure business and client objectives are met. Work to improve the overall systems of work to meet the highest quality objectives. Serve as a trainer and mentor to other Business Analysts. Serve as liaison between IT development staff and operational units to gather detailed requirements and specifications from users, assist in the design and development of technical solutions, and ensure the technical solutions meet the user's needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Optimize the way we work to increase value delivery, quality, client NSP and employee satisfaction
  • Assist in administration of department policy and procedures directed by department manager to include: performance reviews, handling employee issues, monitoring PTO, timesheet approval, interviewing, oversight of new hire training, professional growth and performance and routine departmental tasks
  • Supervise and mentor Business Analyst staff to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met
  • Communicate productivity and quality concerns to Business Analysis Director and provide input for recommended changes
  • Serve as a liaison between the OptumServe operational departments and OptumServe IT to gather functional requirements for various system enhancements and changes
  • Research and document issues and bugs before reporting these to the developers
  • Foster an agile mindset with product centric development and the empowerment of people and teams
  • Offer guidance to ensure quality creation of backlog items. This involves clarifying the user request / client needs and initial validation that the request is feasible
  • Assist in testing new functionality before it is implemented to ensure it meets business and user requirements
  • Coach, mentor, and train new and existing team members
  • Collaborate, take ownership of initiatives, and makes decisions as part of a leadership team

Required Qualifications:

  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86
  • 4+ years of experience in business analysis and/or gathering business requirements with previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience supporting Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience working as a liaison between IT and the internal user community
  • Knowledge of complex database structures and relationships
  • Knowledge of complex relational databases structures (tables, key fields, table relationships)
  • Understanding of complex business processes that cross many functional operational units
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer or business-related field
  • Experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • LeSS Experience with CLP
  • Agile Product Management / Agile Life Cycle / Agile Framework Certifications / Less Certification (CLP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent facilitation and training skills
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Ability to understand complex concepts of software setup, configuration and customization, especially the relationships between database tables
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of personnel and management and be able to effectively perform assigned duties in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to lead and direct the activities of others
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills and be able to problem solve and propose solutions

Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received. Failure to obtain final NACLC approval will result in termination from this role.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
