About the job
The Red Hat Analytics Innovation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Operations team is looking for a Machine Learning Developer to join us. In this role, you will support the modernization of the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team's data, AI, and ML-driven insights and delivery. You will build new capabilities to support Analytics-as-a-Service (AaaS) and Data-as-a-Service (DaaS). You will work closely with the Data Governance, Business Intelligence (BI) Delivery, and Platform teams to operationalize AI and ML infrastructure, enable AI and ML orchestration, and use these technologies across hybrid multi cloud, edge, and other environments, making use of Red Hat's offerings, partner offerings, and open source communities. This position can be based in Raleigh, NC, or remotely in North America in states where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Assist in the implementation of next-generation AI and ML strategy and roadmap aligned with product direction, strategic business goals, and growth priorities
  • Work toward quick wins to bring success and demonstrate business value with data and AI and ML capabilities
  • Operationalize AL and ML across business solutions and data engineering
  • Analyze source data and data flows, working with structured and unstructured data
  • Manipulate high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources to expose and highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends
  • Apply AI and Machine Learning technology to solve complex, real-world problems
  • Work with the fellow data scientists and machine learning developers to establish standards
  • Prepare and maintain data used to create trained models and the models themselves
  • Be responsible for performance tuning of the trained models
  • Validate trained models
  • Lead by example by use of paired programming for cross-training and upskilling, problem-solving, and speed to delivery
  • Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers
  • Grow technical capabilities and expertise and provide guidance to other machine learning engineers on the team
  • Work with architects to make technical decisions on tools, integration and other issues
  • Bring the best ML Operations practices and standards, working with other technical anchors for the offering as well as Center of Excellence (CoE) and Operations for the ML tools used


What you will bring

  • Bachelors or master's degree in a technical field like data science, computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, or mathematics with 5+ years of professional experience
  • Experience working with large data sets, both structured and unstructured
  • Familiarity with the Red Hat technologies, specifically Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
  • Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks and libraries
  • Experience using ML tools like pytorch, tensorflow, xgboost, etc.
  • Prior experience working with container technology, Docker files, Docker images, GitHub, and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) concepts
  • Experience working with agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Experience with programming concepts like paired programming, test-driven development, etc.
