Pratt & Whitney Military Engines is looking for an Operations Analyst to drive idea generation and collaborate with our military customers on product offerings. The ideal candidate is a thought leader with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of aircraft and/or high-performance engine operational requirements. This role will translate military aircrew needs and develop engine performance solutions that analyze the risks and opportunities for Pratt & Whitney and the customer.

The candidate will be a part of an innovative new team developing capabilities for Pratt & Whitney Military Engines. The selected candidate must be able to work across various levels in the organization and partner with technical subject matter experts, aircrew, and leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform analyses of operational and future engine mission effectiveness, threat assessments, and propulsion performance trends
  • Lead development of P&W analysis capabilities to include progressive technologies such as alternative fuels, hybrid-electric, blended wing transports, PTMS integration, and other areas of conceptual aircraft design.
  • Drive growth in aircraft assessment capability to be on par with airframers - so P&W is an equal collaborative partner in developing an integrated aircraft/engine system
  • Collaborate with design team to translate business needs for model simulation output
  • Develop white papers, performing trade studies, and providing analysis to support decision makers on assessing future propulsion performance.
  • Work with leadership to generate and lead development plans, including cost estimates and scheduling
  • Brief senior Pratt & Whitney leadership and the customer on future [insert applicable program] concepts



Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Qualifications):

  • 8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in engineering, science related field, or 5+ years relevant experience and an advanced degree.
  • Experience with systems engineering, integration and test or operational experience with mission systems on tactical platforms
  • Active Secret or higher security clearance
  • US Citizenship required



Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Test or operational experience with mission systems on tactical platforms
  • Experience with AFSIM or BRAWLER tools
  • Military aircrew experience
