About the job
The Red Hat Marketing Technology and Operations team is looking for a Web Analytics Engineer to join us. In this role, you will help deploy and maintain scalable combinations of people, process, and technology that will ensure best practices in data quality, data availability, compliance with data privacy laws, digital analytics implementations, and tag management implementations. You'll need to stay up to date on industry and technology trends, write detailed technical documentation, troubleshoot issues, and continuously enhance our marketing infrastructure. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once, which will involve stakeholders from across the company. As a Web Analytics Engineer, you will be part of the Conversion Technology team and you'll partner with multiple teams to support and extend Adobe Marketing Cloud technology across global Red Hat's marketing programs. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Implement and perform quality assurance (QA) of different integrations with Adobe
  • Launch, including Google Ads, Demandbase, Hotjar, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
  • Perform validation of all code and tagging activities on preproduction and production environments
  • Audit digital tags and publish the results on a regular basis in order to ensure that digital tag requests for both internal and external customers are implemented accurately and efficiently, maintaining data integrity
  • Determine the most effective and time and cost-efficient methods for capturing data elements to be used in web development, i.e., events-driven data layer
  • Develop a data quality metrics framework which will include dashboard and scorecard and monitoring (alerts and triggers)
  • Serve as the digital analytics data steward for the digital analytics data and be the subject matter expert on where and how to access that data; be able to explain complex analytics implementations and ensure the quality and availability of digital data
  • Document technical specifications
  • Maintain Solution Design Reference (SDR)
  • Establish procedures for detection and correction of data quality issues and collaborate to establish policies, procedures, and internal controls affecting the quality of data
  • Identify anomalies and discrepancies and implement corrective measures
  • Ensure the quality and availability of digital analytics data through frequent data audits, report reviews, and access reviews
  • Establish guidelines and protocols that will govern the proliferation of data to ensure that privacy controls are enforced in all processes
  • Compile retention, archival, and disposal requirements and ensure compliance with institutional policy and regulations
  • Work with site leads to maintain quarterly cookies scans and ensure that tags are firing based on their designated bucket for cookie consent compliance
  • Serve as a consultant to data end users to educate and support the use of digital analytics data
  • Support and enable a multi-domain web personalization and optimization strategy
  • Support a multi-year roadmap and a prioritized backlog of work in order to continuously improve our marketing systems with both vendors and internal teams
  • Evangelize and articulate how all components of the marketing infrastructure work and why
  • Enable workflow, resource use, budget, and contractual aspects of vendor relationships
  • Manage technical aspects of Adobe Marketing Cloud and other key marketing systems
  • Encourage awareness and inquiry of core web traffic and audience insights for key marketing programs and initiatives
  • Evangelize and enable adoption of Adobe Analytics, Target, Audience Manager, Adobe Experience Platform, etc.
  • Develop detailed technical documentation, including user stories, data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, user guides, test cases, and blog posts


What you will bring

  • 10+ years of work experience and bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience administering or implementing Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions, including Analytics, Target, Audience Manager, Experience Platform, etc.; Adobe Certified Professional qualification is a plus
  • Experience promoting consistency in s_code logic between multiple web properties and domains and using Adobe Marketing Cloud, Discover, API, etc., to surface reliable data for analysis
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and web diagnostic tools, e.g., Charles, Firebug, Omnibug, Fiddler, LucidWorks or Solr, Ghostery, or HotJar
  • Extensive background both educating stakeholders and developing reports or dashboards to support the needs of Sales and Marketing programs
  • Solid analytical skills and experience with advanced reporting and other data analysis tools, e.g., QlikView or Tableau, is a plus
  • Great problem-solver, ability to learn on your own and work in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to manage multiple global projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • General understanding of tag management, preferably Adobe Launch or Web SDK
