Responsibilities
Universal Cable Holdings, Inc. (DBA Suddenlink Communications) seeks a Senior Database Engineer to design and implement detailed architectural plans for databases to address operational data needs and business initiatives involving Business Intelligence (BI). Divide Big Data engineering activities into tasks to enable accurate implementation estimation and scheduling. Document design and functional specifications, project schedules, release notes, and operational reference documents for databases. Provide technical support for applications, services, and solutions, and evaluate design efficiency of code and adherence to quality standards.
Qualifications
- Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a directly related STEM field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with installing, configuring, and administering databases and applications to optimize business operations.
- Experience must include a minimum of: 1 year of experience working with Oracle database management, Golden Gate, RAC, Data Guard, and OEM; 1 year of experience performing Oracle application and database task automation and using Shell scripts and Windows Batch Scripts;
- 1 year of experience with performing Windows Batch scripting and database administration on Microsoft SQL Server and database migration from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server, and 1 year of experience with IBM AIX, Linux, Oracle BI, PeopleSoft, and Unix.
- Requirements of this position include demonstration of either full vaccination status against COVID-19 or company-provided weekly COVID-19 testing.
