The Cyber Effects and Information Warfare Department is currently seeking to grow our team with a highly talented data engineer who is interested in providing foundational engineering for large scale cyber analytic capabilities and data services for DoD's Cyber Forces to enable joint all-domain operations. The engineer will be part of a team of experts and multi-disciplinary engineers, analyzing the data service and platform requirements, while driving strategic engineering and programmatic decisions for the government customer. The selected candidate will be supporting our Unified Platform (UP) project, a key component of the Joint Cyber Warfare Architecture (JCWA) MITRE Critical Program.
Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a strong technical candidate with a data engineering, data science, or computer science professional background to fill this critical position. MITRE's UP project team drives critical government cyber requirements to research, develop and guide development teams focused on defining and implementing a modern machine learning platform.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess an active Secret Security Clearance
- B.S. in Mathematics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, and 5 years relevant experience in a relevant domain
- Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, etc.) working with large amounts of data
- Experience using web services: AWS, Azure, Google, etc.
- Experience with distributed computing and data tools: Map/Reduce, Spark, HDFS, MySQL, etc.
- Experience with Agile Software Development
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience creating data architectures
PreferredQualifications:
- Possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance
- M.S. in Mathematics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, and 7 years relevant experience in a relevant domain
- 5-7 years experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
- Coding knowledge with several languages: Java, C, C++, JavaScript, etc.
- Three years experience mining and analyzing databases for optimization and improvement of hypothesis development and strategy
- Three years assessing the accuracy and value of data sets
- Experience developing custom data models and algorithms
- Experience with predictive modeling
- Experience with implementation of machine learning techniques (clustering, artificial neural networks, decision tree learning, etc.)
- A drive to learn and master evolving technologies
- Experience working with Department of Defense or Intelligence Community
- Possesses working knowledge of defensive or offensive cyberspace operations
