What's the role?
We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer passionate about Data Management to join our team. This team provides critical data management expertise and services to various areas across the organization. The role requires a dynamic agile approach, perseverance and persistence to tackle sophisticated business problems, and strong data management skills. You will work to achieve the following goals:

  • Improve and maximize the value of data through Data Management technology enablement:
  • Orchestrate and analyze local data management teams to provide integrated data management solutions
  • Provide strategic oversight to the disparate data management functions
  • Influence and build a roadmap for enterprise metadata management, data quality, access management and data modeling solutions
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and new players in the data management space to ensure NM has the best technology solutions in place to meet business goals and objectives
  • Develop integrated data management metrics
  • Drive technology solutions to support Data Governance program implementation and adoption:
  • Play a key leadership role within the enterprise Data Governance Office
  • Participate in establishing and executing on a governance implementation roadmap and framework by seeking out industry standard methodologies and incorporating relevant ideas
  • Develop integrated standards, best practices, and policies to ensure effective data governance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or related field
  • 10 years of IT experience, including 4-6 years showing success in architecting data management solutions such as: data quality, metadata management, access management and data modeling
  • Expertise in SQL, data warehousing architecture and have a demonstrable understanding of concepts like R, Python, etc. and the value they bring to the organization as well as the implications those technologies could have on data management
  • Experience with different operational, BI, and analytical technology implementations (on-prem/cloud, structured/unstructured data, operational/DW/data lake implementations)
  • Shown experience building and working with technology conceptual and logical models - capabilities, blueprints, information models, process models, principles, etc.
  • Deep working knowledge of DMBoK concepts and domains (CDMP certification desired)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies/Dev Ops environments
  • Experience in designing and architecting API's
