The Lead Business Analyst (VP, IT Business Analysis) is a high visibility, key delivery point of contact and will be involved in the strategic planning of an engagement and helping the client make decisions about their future IT direction. Once a project has begun, the Lead Business Analyst will facilitate key requirements with stakeholders and customers using standard and User Experience techniques. The Lead Business Analyst will be responsible for functional designs, detailed workflows and system mapping, wireframes, requirement specifications, and prototypes.
The Lead Business Analyst has overall leadership and management responsibility for all Business Analysts supporting Commercial Insurance. Through leadership and mentorship the Lead Business Analyst is responsible for managing development, deliverable consistency, staffing, and the career development of this team.
The Lead Business Analyst works directly with Project delivery office resources and will assist with daily operations exercising time management, communication and collaboration in a fast-paced environment to ensure the successful delivery of projects. The Lead Business Analyst will interface with AIG technical and business delivery personnel, as well as vendors and customers on a regular basis. Will mentor junior Analysts and Consultants as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Builds trusted client relationships through proactive Functional requirements management and effective project delivery.
  • Establishes knowledge of client business challenges and priorities to translate into opportunities.
  • Helps deliver presentations to clients and management teams.
  • Contributes to project discoveries, kickoff, prepares proposals and statements of work following company standards.
  • Translate client's business needs into detailed business requirements documents, use cases and systems interaction diagrams.
  • Works with customers to establish approved wireframes and mock-ups for solutions.
  • Assists project team to establish high, mid, and micro level plans for project team.
  • Helps to establish critical path, milestones, delivery dates, and review client deliverables to ensure they meet client acceptance criteria.
  • Works with Business and IT on discovering, articulating, documenting stories aligned to Insurance Underwriting Functions, Identity and Access Management, and Business operations Analytics Establishes standards for documentation aligning business processes, requirements, product, and user story development.
  • Holds project teams and business analysts accountable for maintaining the defined standards.
  • Manages the overall business analyst team for project staffing, mentoring and career development.
  • Provides leadership throughout the lifecycles of a project, guiding the understanding the project team has through design and development to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Helps establish project test strategy, methodologies, test plans as well as assist with test execution.



Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional business analyst experience, with strong leadership, relationship management, account management, and support experience.
  • 4+ years experience in Commercial Insurance Industry strongly preferred; and must have a solid understanding of Commercial Insurance industry and products.
  • MUST be able to run workshops to prioritize Business requirements.
  • MUST be able to work with Vendor teams.
  • Able to DRIVE requirements from Product owners (Business people) by asking probing questions and identifying requirements.
  • Consulting industry experience working with external clients is a plus.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple resources across multiple projects or initiatives.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with iterative development methodologies.
  • Proven track record of delivering on time, on budget, and meeting client commitments.



Preferred Skills And Education

  • Degree in Business, Science or equivalent preferred; Master's Degree is a plus
  • Previous Job Experience within Underwriting or Operations is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of NCCI/ISO Insurance Products.
  • Strong understanding of complex Internet based enterprise level applications.
  • Project management experience strongly preferred.
  • Scrum or Product Owner certification is a plus
