The Purpose of the Business Analyst is to be a proactive part of the team designing software solutions to banking challenges by improving business and consumer banking processes, proposing automation opportunities to reduce efforts, and improving customer and user experience across the solution. You will accomplish this by working closely with the Product Manager, Quality Assurance, Software Architects, and Development teams to produce quality software that meets our client needs. The Business Analyst will manage the requirements process and will serve as the liaison between the Product Manager and the Technology teams. On a daily basis, you will have direct interactions with software architects, business analysts, and our customer banks to define business requirements, confirm expectations, and ensure the best quality in the solution for delivery. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and documenting business requirements, as well as recommending business priorities and advising on options, risks, and costs. You will conduct research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible. From that point, you will analyze the impact of proposed solution across the business, develop use cases to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to the team, and contribute a business or process perspective during design reviews. Assist quality assurance team to ensure that requirements documentation can be easily translated into test plans, provide relevant test scenarios, and ensure that these plans have been completed and results correspond to the business expectations. Finally, it will be your responsibility to facilitate the implementation of new functionality through training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate documentation

Essential Functions

  • Listen to market needs as communicated by multiple sources (such as clients and Baker Hill internal resources) and be able to clearly document and define the potential solution within the software.
  • Lead the functional design portion of SDLC process by facilitating design meetings, writing design documents, coordinating the review process.
  • Act as Liaison between business and technology teams to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements.
  • Author business use cases, scenarios, and specifications by studying system capabilities and constructing workflow charts and diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot and filter product development issues such as bugs, misconfigurations, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Maintain communication channels with clients during collaborative development efforts.
  • Review feature enhancements from both internal and external sources and escalate those features internally for future development.
  • Work with the product team to develop features and solutions that will increase efficiency and productivity for our financial institution clients.
  • Improve systems by adhering to current best practices.
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
  • Provide support to clients and internal teams as necessary.
  • Gain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
  • Review Test Cases and Production Documentation for accuracy.
  • Communicate with other departments to coordinate test and deployment activities


Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business, Management, Computer Science, Economics, Communications or other related degrees - Preferred
  • 1+ yr Problem Solving
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Banking and/or Commercial loan systems preferred
  • Ability to assimilate, organize and summarize large amounts of information
  • Strong ability to learn new techniques and processes
  • Negotiation skills with ability to find successful resolutions to complex issues
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a close team depending upon project
  • Strong analytical skills and writing skills, including solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into functional specifications for technology
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work efforts in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
