Responsibilities

Guidehouse is seeking an IT Data Analyst to join our Client Services team. The IT Data Analyst will perform duties aligned within the below areas:

  • Analyze data from multiple sources to assist with planning, procurement, and executive decision making.
  • Create reports for internal teams and/or external clients
  • Collaborate with team members to collect, analyze and process data
  • Use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data
  • Structure large data sets to find usable information
  • Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings
  • Work with and maintain databases including MS-SQL Server
  • Write and debug custom SQL queries using tools such as SQL Developer
  • Manage multiple parallel assignments and meet specified milestones
  • Provide technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to owners
  • Ensure delivered solutions meets technical and functional/non-functional performance requirements
  • Manage day to day technical challenges and communicate to project manager any risks or issues associated with the development activities
  • Work in a client-facing role in a consulting environment among mid-level to senior leadership
  • Create, manage, and maintain required project documentation
  • Build strong working relationships and manage and resolve client and team challenges
  • Answer questions and provide direction to less-experienced staff

Qualifications

The following qualifications are REQUIRED to be considered for this role:

  • An ACTIVE and CURRENT TOP SECRET security clearance.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or similar field of study.

The following skills/knowledge/experience is PREFERRED for this role:

  • Programming Languages: Should be proficient in at least one programming language such as R, Python, or SAS and have working knowledge of others for data gathering, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
  • Creative and Analytical Thinking: Must have a strong grounding in statistical methods with the ability to think through problems with a creative and analytical lens.
  • Strong and Effective Communication: Should be able to convey findings and information in a clear and concise manner to team members, Leadership, and executives.
  • Data Visualization: Should have working knowledge of the effective use of data visualization and an understanding of what types of graphs effectively display the data, how to scale visualizations, and which charts to use depending on their audience.
  • SQL Databases: Should have working knowledge of MS SQL Server 2019 and SQL Server Management Studio, as well as common querying languages such as PostreSQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL
  • Data Warehousing: Should have working knowledge with Data warehousing or data lakes and be able to connect databases from multiple sources and streams in a central data warehouse or data lake.
  • O365 Integration: Should have a working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft O365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI, SharePoint) and data integration within the suite.
  • Prior experience with using a variety of tools to gather unstructured data, clean it up, and process it through programming.
  • Prior experience with using machine learning to process large data sets
  • Prior experience developing dashboards with Tableau
  • Prior experience working with financial data
  • Prior experience working in federal environment
