Providing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service, the Chewy CS team meets customers where they’re at- via phone, email or chat messaging to assist. The Internal Communications Specialist drives internal communications across the CS organization, playing a key role in creating compelling content to keep our Customer Service team members informed and engaged with changes to working processes, teach improvements, strategic initiatives, team news, engagement efforts, and more.

The ideal candidate has a passion for everything Communications and helping to engage and inspire our unique team member population of Customer Service employees. This position reports to the CS Communications Manager and is based in Boston, MA or Hollywood, Florida. The position is also available as a remote role.

What You'll Do:

  • Execute Customer Service communications strategy to ensure consistency and cohesive messages across the organization. Successfully communicate key programs to our Team Members
  • Partner directly with key cross-functional partners to craft inspiring, engaging, and effective messages reinforcing our operating principles as they connect to upcoming changes and initiatives
  • Strategizes team SOPs, writing, maintaining and upholding them with business partners to ensure process consistency.
  • Support planning efforts for internal events and senior leadership meetings, including assisting with rehearsals, message development, and logistics
  • Drive exceptional internal/employee communications practices
  • Handle day-to-day content publishing for employee communication tools and communications outputs (intranet; email; Slack)
  • Identify creative ways to communicate key initiatives
  • Manage initiatives in CS Communications calendar
  • Counsel internal partners on most effective communications strategies and tactics
  • Support other duties as assigned in support of communications General
  • Upholds brand guidelines
  • Capacity to work and react quickly in fast paced e-commerce environment, which may involve working evenings and weekends on occasion
  • Develop messaging on nuanced topics that span Chewy, business innovation and the pet sector
  • Ability to quickly and cogently digest information across varied topics quickly and effectively, meeting tight deadlines across multiple projects
  • Partner effectively with internal teams. Develop relationships with key stakeholders across every part of our portfolio, including CS Operations, CS Healthcare, CS Pharmacy, Training, Quality, Product, IT, Corporate Communications, and Marketing, among other business units

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; concentration in communications, marketing, business, or related field of study preferred
  • Minimum 2-4 years of related communications experience; specific experience in internal/employee communications and/or public relations; knowledge of communications support field employees is a plus
  • Strong understanding of internal communications strategies; ability to think strategically and help build implementation plans that have a measurable impact on the business
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with demonstrated abilities to communicate effectively (written and oral) with all types of employees at all levels
  • Strong presence with CS senior leadership (Directors, Senior Directors, and C-suite) as a representative of the CS Communications team and standards in writing, meetings, and presentations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and lead efforts across disciplines
  • Ability to respond quickly to time sensitive requests
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and with little oversight
  • Notable attention to detail and accuracy; high level of commitment to exceptional work quality
  • Demonstrated capacity to be highly creative, analytical, and data-driven at same time
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, continuously changing, entrepreneurial environment
  • Able to manage workflow with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment; self-directed and proactively seeking out work to be done within scope
  • Deep knowledge of multiple types of communications mediums (website, email, Slack etc.)
  • Occasional travel to Chewy CS sites as needed, under normal circumstances (5-10%)
