This role is responsible for creating and maintaining work standards using time study, work sample, and predetermined time standard methods. In addition, an individual in this role participates in process improvement activities that drive productivity with the goal of increasing customer satisfaction. This role collaborates with business stakeholders to develop and maintain operational best practices that improve labor utilization and effectiveness. Responsibilities also include supporting rollout and training initiatives for in-store Team Members to promote execution of best practices at the store level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, analyze, and document all corporate labor standards
  • Perform time studies, work sampling, and ability to build standards using MTM data
  • Maintain and develop process workflows and ensure processes are accounted for in labor planning application
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Industrial Engineering Software Platforms
  • Develop best practices for each job function within the store departments
  • Reduce variation within work tasks to improve process efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction

Required Skills

  • Proficient computer skills:
    • Data acquisition through SQL or Business Intelligence Tools – ability/aptitude to access reports and build/ manipulate queries.
    • Data transformation with MS Excel – ability/aptitude to learn/create complex spreadsheets using advanced formulas
    • MS PowerPoint – ability/aptitude to learn/create professional presentations.
  • Strong analytical skills - able to retrieve, transform, analyze, and visualize data effectively with a high-degree of detail-orientation
  • Strong statistical skills (Minitab or similar statistical software is a plus)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to describe technical information to unfamiliar audiences simply and clearly.
  • Ability to be collaborative and work with and through cross functional teams
  • Ability to stay highly organized and on-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel independently and conduct on-site observations, time studies, and analyses as needed (travel required: up to 25%)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Kronos or other relevant workforce management application
  • Data transformation with a coding language (Python, R, etc.) or Alteryx
  • Process simulation with Simio, Arena, or similar

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Experience with time study methods
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification
  • Labor standards software such as Retail Ease is a plus
  • Retail experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated process improvement successes in a retail environment strongly preferred
