Business Management
The Business Management Manager manages a team of experienced professionals that is responsible for providing strategic support for the assigned business area. As a manager, this job oversees the execution of strategic business management consulting and is the central point of contact for the leaders in the execution of business management tasks. This job is responsible for policy and strategy implementation that impact the achievement of strategic business management consulting operational results.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages team in assigned area and makes decisions on tactical issues that impact the business.
  • Oversees the implementation of policies and procedures in support of the business area strategy.
  • Drives process improvements in assigned business area.
  • Analyzes and reports to senior management on area data (financial, headcount, etc.) and performance metrics.
  • Oversees business management projects by monitoring and tracking risks, issues and action items.
  • Drives and oversees meeting planning in support of business projects and objectives.
  • Influences the development of new strategic initiatives through tracking budgets and milestones.
  • Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation, and development of team.

The head of Integrated Strategy & Business mgmt leader will partner with our client facing teams and key business partners to drive the TIAA enterprise strategy across TCR. Key responsibilities for this role are developing the integrated business strategy across the B2B2C ecosystem (both long term and short term), connecting with corporate strategy to understand the market opportunity and enterprise priority, leveraging data and insights to drive prioritization and helping to design the integrated business processes. In addition, other priorities include, stakeholder engagement, building and articulating the business case for change, and partnering with our key business partners and subject matter experts to ensure optimal future state design. Strategic and/or Enterprise priorities that this leader, or members of his/her team may support, include cascading the TCR strategy, metrics and accountability structure, preparation of EC/Board materials, coordination with other CAO teams to ensure connections, among others.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Works closely with TCR Business Excellence and Enablement teams to develop and build out key elements of the integrated (B2B2C) strategy to achieve optimal Retirement Outcomes.
  • Facilitates the annual strategic and initiative planning process for TCR
  • Coordination and creation of content for Board cycles and various EC related meetings, as well as key follow up actions that drive accountability and efficiency in resolution.
  • Achieve goals and priorities through collaboration with the TCR leadership team.
  • Navigate TIAA and partner across all functions to ensure timely access to critical information and to foster a success-oriented, accountable culture
  • Drives overall team effectiveness and productivity by helping to drive change through culture and fostering positive team dynamics.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the team



QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience leveraging business strategy methodology and well versed in key performance indicators and performance measurement methodologies (Hoshin planning, OKRs, etc.)



Preferred:

  • 7+ years of experience leveraging business strategy methodology and well versed in key performance indicators and performance measurement methodologies (Hoshin planning, OKRs, etc.)
  • 8+ years of experience in process mapping and reengineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Retirement industry experience to include a solid understanding of annuity, insurance and investment products and solutions across the B2B2C customer journey
  • 3+ years of direct employee management experience and proven leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills, with proven ability to influence senior leaders
  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency to create and present information to executive stakeholders - crisp and impactful
  • Ability to connect the dots and "tell the story" through presentations - both written and verbally
  • Six Sigma experience highly desired (Black Belt or Master Black Belt Certification)
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of the principles of financial management
  • Previous experience building strong cross-functional relationships and influencing without authority in a matrixed organization
  • Proven experience in large scale business Program/Project execution delivery



Potential Salary: $194,250.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
