Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/business oriented field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience with sales, consulting, finance, strategy, sales operations, or product management
  • 2 years of experience with people management in a related field
  • Experience with SQL



Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in data analytics
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects, executing on project management, managing multiple priorities, and operating in ambiguous environments
  • Experience working with Sales teams
  • Experience interacting with and influencing executives
  • Knowledge of Python and R
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills



About the job

The Global Ads Product Go-To-Market team partners with the Global Product Leads (GPLs) and regional/channel Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to influence Google's ads product strategies and ensure successful activation by Google's sales teams around the world. The team works at the highest executive levels providing strategic (e.g., analyzing and understanding industry trends, building business plans, etc.), competitive intel, operations (e.g., running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications support. Our team partners with leadership to run important functions that cut across Google Ads and Ads Product, and deliver high impact projects focused on product adoption and business opportunities.

As Head of Business Analytics, you will lead the central strategy, technical integrations, and operations of the Recommended Opportunities (ROpps) team. You will work with, through, and across leadership and the regions partnering with Sales, Global Product Leads, and Go-To-Market to inform and execute on ROpps strategy, adoption, and processes. Your team will be responsible for launching the ROpps program quarterly as well as the mid-cycle launches. You will be responsible for leading the strategy on how the program is designed and the guiding principles for what and how we surface opportunities to promoters.

In this role, you will work across a diverse range of stakeholders in a broad space covering the entirety of Google's ads product and businesses. You will understand and incorporate a diverse set of needs, balance them with objective measurement of outcomes, and deliver pragmatic recommendations and solutions that move the business forward.

The Go-To-Market Operations (GTM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of business/tech analysts responsible for launching the ROpps program to the sales organization on a quarterly and mid-quarter basis.
  • Develop strategy and a vision based on extensive quantitative factors for delivering and automating business growth opportunities to Large Customer Sales (LCS) advertisers, both directly and via sales teams (building on current business opportunities).
  • Partner with Connect Sales to influence product roadmap of ROpps program including UX and functionality.
  • Educate GPL and GTM stakeholders on Sales teams' needs to drive deeper ROpps adoption and traction.
  • Identify scaled ways to drive ROpps adoption by sharing best practices (e.g., analysis, tools, dashboards, data), success stories, and business growth impact of ROpps across the vertical and sector.
