Overview

BigBear.ai seeks to hire a Graph Database Engineer to provide data modeling, ETL, data management, and analytics support to our team. As a BigBear.ai team member, you will work as part of a team developing a dynamic force tracking capability. Working with a variety of data sets, you will iteratively define our graph data model, loading static data sets into our graph. Additionally, you will help build out a data pipelines that will incorporate real-time / streaming data into our knowledge graph. This position requires knowledge of graph database concepts and the ability to understand the user's requirements and create a solution to address these challenges. This position also requires excellent leadership, communication, and technical skills.

Onsite work will be performed in Reston, VA however will offer remote flexibility.

What you will do

  • Assess and design graph data store to support team/customer requirements
  • Support the ingest and transformation of data structures into a graph database (Neo4j)
  • Assist development team with tuning their Cypher queries and improving database performance
  • Communicate technical options and ideas to customers who do not have a technical background
  • Work closely with functional and other team members to meet schedule and deliverables



What you need to have

  • Clearance: Active Top Secret required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar major; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of education requirement
  • At least three (3) years graph database experience
  • At least three (3) years ETL experience
  • At least one (1) year experience developing graph data models (bonus points for incorporating ontologies and taxonomies as part of this experience)
  • Desire to learn graph database concepts and obtain relevant certification
  • Experience with Neo4j
  • The ideal candidate needs to be detail-oriented, work well with other team members, have excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to work at customer site on occasion



What we'd like you to have

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance Preferred (must be willing to obtain)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of incorporating spatial and time series data in a graph environment
  • Debugging and Performance Tuning database environments
  • Demonstrated experience building out streaming / real-time data pipelines using tools such as Kafka, Arrow, Storm, or NiFi
  • Experience developing APIs (REST, GraphQL)
  • Neo4j Certified Professional certification
  • Experience with Relational/NoSQL databases on Linux platforms
  • Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
