Position Overview:
The Government Relations Analyst II performs tasks under the guidance of the various members of the Government Relations Team. The Government Relations Team is relied upon by all facets of the organization including sales, new client implementation, client support, and finance. The Government Relations Analyst is primarily responsible for Analyzing information on the legislative environment for regulatory updates and maintaining strong relationships with Government Regulatory at the direction of the Government Relations team.
Paylocity Inc. processes payroll for clients in all fifty states down to the local level where applicable. Our clients depend on us to stay up to date on new trends in tax reporting in all jurisdictions. We also strive to influence Government Agencies towards adopting policies that benefit our operations as well as our client's ability to conduct business and grant us authority to act on their behalf.

Reports To: Project Manager, Government Relations
Responsibilities:

  • Represent Paylocity at Agency events forums and one on one meetings with Tax Authorities
  • Provide content and commentary on internal blogs and communications
  • Provide research support as assigned
  • Monitor subscriptions and online resources for regulatory updates and potential legislative action
  • Maintain an inventory of regulatory updates
  • Organize communication inventory and provide distribution support for internal and external communication
  • Complete comparison of system updates and regulatory updates expected from vendors
  • Other related responsibilities at the discretion of management

Most Important Task:

  • Monitoring new legislative trends
  • Editing and Publishing Newsletters
  • Supporting Senior Analyst in Building relationships with Tax Authorities and Representing Paylocity
  • Providing research support to Senior Analyst
  • Reviewing Agency filing specifications and filing methods

Preferred Skills:

  • 3 years of Payroll Tax experience preferred.
  • CPP preferred.
  • Database or Excel Advanced knowledge preferred.
  • Payroll service bureau experience preferred.

Soft Skills:

  • MS Office applications - are no sweat when it comes to your skillset.
  • High level of integrity
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communications skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Technical aptitude; proficiency with the use of information technology in Tax Administration

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $45,097 - $66,110 /year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position offers a comprehensive variable compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
