PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a strategic and analytical partner, financial steward to global operations leadership teams and global
    • Upholds Global Finance program goals and mission when interacting with business partners. May act as a single threaded leader for Business Performance Management team and/or function as Sponsor of working groups, providing guidance, review and insight.
    • Acts independently to leverage cross-functional partnerships in support of business initiatives and driving sustainable improvement within regional results.
  • Partners with global business partners and leaders to provide analysis, articulate guidance, and emphasize business needs. Partnerships include the Global Merchant Teams, Retail Operations, Workforce Planning Team, WFMOA, FP&A, Marketing Analytics, Store Development and DATA support teams. This list is not all inclusive. 
    • May include creating executive recaps for global operations leadership to discuss performance, challenges and opportunities
    • May include pulling cross functional representatives together to solution business process gaps, performance opportunities or creation of new processes.
    • May include contributing written content to business reviews, proposals, and other position papers
  • Seeks to better understand business drivers, identify notable trends and recommend operational process improvements.
    • May include dissecting new product/process launches, understanding performance of regions, teams or expense drivers, and/or correlating business process to financial results.
    • Includes anticipation of Change Management constraints and builds them into program considerations
  • Provides insights on financials and operational metrics, highlights opportunities, drives action through conversations with leadership and coordinates follow-ups, and advocates change or escalates a proposed medium/long-term strategy evolution
    • May focus on business or store-type opportunities which could include new stores, global pilots, competitive openings / cannibalization and/or under-performing stores/metros
    • May focus on programmatic/operational opportunities which could include understanding business process changes, sales opportunities, shrink drivers or labor productivity impacts.
    • May focus on regional opportunities which could include deep diving on category analysis, controllable expense challenges and/or benchmarking performance versus historical trends or company results. 
  • Generates high quality, error-free deliverables appropriate for executive presentations.
  • Maintains a high level of curiosity about our business and collaborates with or leads peers and business leaders to better understand primary drivers of operational excellence and financial performance.
  • Creatively adapts to unexpected obstacles and reallocates time, priorities, and resources accordingly.
  • Willing to travel periodically, domestically and internationally, as required.
  • Other adhoc duties as required

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

  • Displays a mastery of industry-standard business drivers including drivers of Operational Excellence and Financial Drivers.
  • Excellent ability to monitor, examine and review financial statements, reports and accounts.
  • Excellent knowledge or action plan to become an advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau, FPM, Everclear and other WFM reporting tools.
  • Confident navigating, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets. Uses experience, innovation, and judgment to make decisions that may be based on partial information. Able to identify new and improved methods of performing data manipulation and analysis.
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the WFM product mix and retail operations

  • Recognizes change management as a core component of process development, addressing challenges ahead of deployment.

  • Leverages knowledge of customer, market and industry trends and emerging challenges to make business improvement recommendations.
  • Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of the WFM product mix, supply base and retail operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS degree and 6-8 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
