Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst- Richmond, Va

Job Description

Overview:

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst will play an important role, contributing to the production and incorporation of GIS data into CoStar's market leading commercial real estate research product. This individual will be tasked with analyzing and ensuring accurate capture of geospatial data. They will work closely with researchers and other stakeholders to create compelling GIS products that meet customer needs as well as thematic data for broader distribution. Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the production of interactive maps, websites, reports, and presentations that bring research content and real estate data to life
  • Ensure visual data is presented accurately and in a compelling fashion
  • Respond to internal stakeholder and external client requests for data and information
  • Develop and share best practices standards for the region and research

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 1 years of experience in a GIS capacity in public/private sector
  • Experience in analyzing spatial data and translating client requirements into appropriate GIS reports and thematic maps.
  • 1+ years of experience and knowledge with GIS databases and editing using software such as ESRI and ArcGIS.
  • Knowledge of modern component-based GIS tools and methodology for GIS use cases.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to review their own work for accuracy and completeness and the initiative to recommend solutions or improvements as appropriate.
  • Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Some experience with SQL databases and queries
  • Work in person at CoStar office in Richmond
