Genomics Data Scientist
We're seeking a Genomics Data Scientist to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods!
Our company aims to revolutionize drug design through the use of breakthrough computational methods. Schrödinger's platform is transforming the discovery of novel therapeutics, and we're developing a robust preclinical pipeline and portfolio in multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology, immunology and neurology.
As a member of our Drug Discovery Team, you'll drive maximized data utility through data warehousing, data curation, and data visualization across a variety of teams. Through integrating large-scale public and internal data resources, you'll promote data democratization and governance throughout the full discovery operation

What you'll do:
- Spearhead the design and development of a genomics database that integrates public and proprietary datasets to fuel biomarker analysis and data visualization applications
- Work with computational biology, biology, and translational science to understand scientific questions, data needs, and pain points and translate them into technology requirements and phased software development projects.
- Work with Enterprise Informatics data architects and data engineers to design and build solutions to facilitate data integration, harmonization, access and analysis, especially -omics datasets
- Work with the Data Science team to build and manage metadata across internal & external datasets, and create a sustainable data lifecycle around the genomics database
What you should have:
- A PhD in Data Science, bioinformatics, or a related field, or an MS with at least three years of relevant working experience (previous working experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred)
- Experience building and maintaining databases for scientific use
- Experience with ontology dictionary development and semantic analysis in data integration and normalization
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in data curation, integration, and visualization of genomics in different modalities
- Understanding of genomic data processing pipelines is strongly preferred
- Familiar with large genomic datasets in public domain; knowledge in therapeutic areas of oncology, immunology oncology is a plus
