Job Description:

At Regions, the Capital Markets Foreign Exchange (FX) Operations Analyst is a part of the Finance and Accounting group. This position is responsible for ensuring the work flow is maintained and there is no internal, external or client impact.

Primary Responsibilities

Middle Office

• Handles daily position and Profit/Loss (P/L) reconciliation; this includes researching and correcting posting errors.
• Responds to customer and bank inquiries through the Foreign Exchange (FX) 800 number
• Supports all functions associated with RegionsFX online trading, including client demonstrations , client setup, trouble shooting issues, serve as product manager, and responding to the dedicated RegionsFX support 800 number
• Prices small value FX trades initiated by other internal areas of the bank
• Handles reporting, which includes writing basic Sequel queries against the FX database
• Supports more complex transactions, such as foreign currency options, non-deliverable forwards and multi-currency loans
• Handles end of the month P/L attribution for the various business segments
• Generates reports used to monitor counterparty risk
• Provides data for federal regulatory reporting and audit requests as needed
• Acts as liaison with FX Back office and teammates from various business groups
• Works with vendor to provide FX system application support
• Performs other functions in support of FX Sales and Trading

Back Office

• Reconciles general ledger and foreign due from accounts daily, including researching and addressing outages
• Investigates trade, payment and accounting issues associated with trade settlements and check clearing
• Prepares monthly RAVE on accounts and regulatory reporting
• Maintains client information within the FX system; ensures supporting documentation is complete and properly stored on imaging system; provides customer service to both internal and external customers
• Ensures proper funding of foreign and domestic due from accounts
• Ability to serve as backup for Trade Settlements desk and Check Clearing
• Assists in managing workflow

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required
• Three years of experience in an analyst role within the financial services industry
• Strong analytical skills
• Good customer service skills
• Sophisticated Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Access
• Proven basic knowledge of various Capital Markets products and the mechanics of basic financial instrument
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high stress trading environment

Preferences

• Finance or Accounting degree preferred
• Experience working with Capital Markets products preferred
