Overview

Intuit's Finance team drives business growth and profitability through strategic, financial and operational leadership. Our team is comprised of finance, accounting, supply chain, corporate strategy & development and tax professionals that support and enhance Intuit's operating efficiencies

This is a functional role in the Controllership Operations and Systems Assurance (COSA) organization representing accounting process owners for new finance back-office systems initiatives and enhancements. As an individual contributor, this position will engage with tech and/or Finance Enterprise Business Systems (FEBS) organizations on systems initiatives impacting accounting processes, have a risk based assessment of financial impact due to system changes and provide assurance over systems implementation to the Controller, accounting leaders, and accounting teams.

This position is expected to have deep accounting process and domain knowledge, representing an E2E accounting POV with an ability to translate complex accounting requirements into system requirements, review of solution design, and validation through testing. The position will require strong cross-functional skills with a POV that operates at a consistent quality and standard considering existing system architecture and design decisions, existing and future processes, inherent risks, and accounting. Primary systems in focus for this position are Item, Billing and Revenue systems and Oracle eBusiness Suite. The position will also be required to provide strong change management, training and support to the entire accounting team.

The individual in this role must have comprehensive experience of Billing and Revenue accounting processes, strong project management skills, and exceptional communication skills. This individual must demonstrate good business sense, use data to drive decisions, be an independent thinker, team player and a trusted thought partner. Ability to communicate clearly, work effectively with diverse groups, skill with quantitative/qualitative analytical methodologies and tools, ability to quickly research, understand and document new processes and requirements are foundational needs for success in this role.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting with minimum of 5-7 years of functional finance/business systems experience or equivalent experience
  • Five to seven years of Billing, Quote to Cash, Revenue, Accounting, Financial system implementation experience, with experience on requirements documentation, solution review and testing validation as a functional lead
  • Experience on Oracle BRM, RevStream and Oracle R12 preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Skills particularly important to success are-

  • Accounting and financial domain knowledge. Deep understanding of AR, Revenue and Deferred revenue accounting and associated transactional flow
  • Strong "systems and process orientation" with demonstrated analytical thinking, organizational skills and problem solving skills
  • Project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation and influencing skills, including the ability to raise issues appropriately to the right level internally and externally to resolve
  • Able to speak "accounting" and "technical" languages for the right audiences
  • Ability to influence people and indirectly manage a team of people to ensure the effective execution of complex initiatives
  • Ability to navigate complexity well and demonstrated experience managing across functions to accomplish large scale goals
  • Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams and willing to voice their opinion
  • Must be savvy to understand both business/accounting needs and the technologies to implement them
  • Have experience identifying systemic and process risks and how to mitigate those discoveries



How you will lead

  • Finance Requirements Document Sign-off - Translate complex accounting guidance and processes into system requirements. Consider end-to-end business processes, transactional flows, associated accounting impacts and required controls. Thought partner with teams to provide clarification on accounting implications and process impact, but with a system/automation perspective. Attend JAR sessions, review and approve FRD. Validate completeness and accuracy of requirements for accounting. Design and develop reporting requirements and specifications.
  • Solution Review and Signoff - Provide point of view on solution leveraging E2E knowledge of accounting processes and controls. Provide transparency on significant design decisions and process changes to Controller, COSA Leaders and Teams with PoV on risk, resource and financial impacts. Validate solution for accounting implications while providing PoV on system design, gaps and deferrals with inputs on prioritization and manual workarounds.
  • Testing - Align on testing approach and scenarios with a PoV on financial risk. Validate testing evidence for accuracy of accounting results, as needed. Lead UAT coordination with process owners.
  • Change management - drive overall change management, communication and training to accounting process owners throughout the software lifecycle development process; goal is 'no surprises' for our stakeholders (COSA leadership and Accounting process owners)
  • Release/ Issues Management - Have a risk based review of monthly system releases, identify system issues with a PoV on financial risk and manage prioritization of defects for resolution.
