Whole Foods Market is seeking a high performing financial analyst to join our Merchandise FP&A team. Our FP&A team provides impactful financial and analytical support to Whole Foods Market’s Merchandising teams. As a member of the Merchandise FP&A team the financial analyst will play a key role supporting business reviews, forecasting, and various ad-hoc financial analyses and have exposure to multiple components of the PnL including Sales, COGS, and OPEX. The ideal candidate will have a strong finance background, advanced excel skills, and be comfortable working with large data sets creating reports and financial models.

Responsibilities:

·Support Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly business reviews with timely financial reporting and contribute to the development of the business story for the period

·Participate in the in the development of the full year sales and gross margin planning and quarterly forecast updates

·Support OPEX and Headcount planning and understand and communicate monthly variances

·Own the refresh, maintenance, and ongoing development and refinement of various financial reports and forecasting models and review files

Develop key financial insights through ad-hoc analyses to help drive business performance

Skills:

·Strong understanding of general Financial Planning & Analysis concepts, principles, and practices

·Advanced excel skills with the ability to perform various data manipulations including reference functions, pivot tables, complex and nested formulas

·Effective written and oral communication skills with both finance and non-finance partners

·Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Workday FPM, Adaptive Planning, Tableau, Everclear

·Independently solves problems, takes action, controls own work, and makes work-related decisions within established guidelines

·Takes initiative and demonstrates a strong desire to reach challenging goals and pursue excellence

Education & Experience:

BA/BS degree and 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
