We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst to work within our FP&A department with operating expense support and continuous improvements in processes and reporting in support of our Digital Health Technologies department. ResMed's DHT department supports activities such as software development and support, AI and Machine Learning, and IT. This position will be based at our San Diego headquarters and will report to the Finance Manager - DHT.

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with our DHT team to control variable costs, particularly with regards to our variable Cloud based compute and storage costs.



  • Work with FP&A team and management to "institutionalize" analysis and reports.



  • Provide recommendations to Finance leadership regarding cost saving and profitability improvement strategies.



  • Coordinate and prepare documents for monthly forecast and close meetings with finance leadership.



  • Collect and update forecast/annual plan data and submit within our planning tools.



  • Provide interpretation of financial policies, governmental legislation, accounting theory, or financial regulations.



  • Organize financial information and analyzes variances to determine present and future financial performance.



  • Systematically identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly.



  • Establish and maintain databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts.



  • Coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans and operating forecasts.



  • Provide ad hoc Finance support to DHT team on an as needed basis



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a strong desire to learn and the ability to quickly understand new concepts and systems.



  • Must be a strong communicator with the ability to present complex strategies to a varied audience - both verbally and in writing
  • Must be a self-starter and have a strong process orientation when approaching daily work as well as problem solving opportunities
  • Must have strong analytical capabilities and experience with performing analysis and creating presentation materials



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Finance, Economics, Statistics, IT or a related discipline
  • 2+ Years working as a Financial Analyst for a medium to large company, preferably in the technology or medical device industries or supporting a technology function in another industry



SOFTWARE SKILLS

  • Requires ability to perform advanced spreadsheet modeling and maintenance in Microsoft Excel
  • Requires excellent understanding and use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Must possess the ability to quickly learn system data-mining processes
  • ERP experience such as Oracle preferred, not required
  • Anaplan, TM1, Cognos or other planning / business intelligence system experience preferred
