Our Consumer & Community Banking division (CCB) serves our Chase customers through a range of financial services, including personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing. Chase and JP Morgan Wealth Management Data & Analytics:
The Chase and JP Morgan Wealth Management Data & Analytics Team unifies data and analytics talent across Chase and JP Morgan Wealth Management to responsibly leverage data to build competitive advantages for our businesses with value and protection for customers. The team encompasses a variety of Data & Analytics disciplines, from data governance and data strategy/partnerships to reporting, data science and machine learning, and are actively engaged in ensuring impact at the front-line and the customer through Sales and Marketing transformation. We have a strong partnership with our dedicated Technology partners, who provide us with our cutting-edge data and analytics infrastructure. Job Summary:
We are looking for an engaging leader who is passionate about data and ready to lead a culture of data ownership and accountability in the CCB products. As Director of the CCB Data Ownership Center of Excellence, this role will be responsible for defining, implementing, and sustaining a new job family of leaders who are accountable for data across the CCB businesses. A successful candidate will manage a centralized team that delivers comprehensive training and tools for new Data Owners hired and onboarded into product-aligned analytics teams, as well as creating governance oversight and community forums as we continue to sustain these critical roles.
The Director of the CCB Data Ownership Center of Excellence will need to partner with firm wide and CCB governance and control partners to ensure Data Owners are able to mitigate data risks per policy and standard expectations. They will also need to work effectively with leaders in data strategy, analytics, and products to ensure the Data Owners are aligned to business priorities and key initiatives. This role will also be responsible for delivering enhance training and broad communications, in partnership with corporate and business resources. This role offers opportunities to contribute thought-leadership with exposure to senior leaders across the Business.
Core Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute a strategy for implementing CCB Data Ownership, including defining criteria and best practices for recruiting and on-boarding, developing a comprehensive training and recertification process, and fostering community engagement and knowledge sharing.
  • Create comprehensive standards, operating models, and control procedures which define the expectations and establish the control framework for both our own Center of Excellence and the Data Owners we support.
  • Collaborate with Control and Audit functions to ensure our strategies align with Firmwide and CCB policies and standards, as well as relevant regulatory or legislative requirements and controls are properly documented in Firmwide tooling.
  • Establish clear milestones and deliverables for Data Owners which demonstrate value within their products and mitigate risk to their data. Track and provide senior level reporting on progress toward these goals.
  • Partner with analytics resources to develop metrics and dashboards that enable Data Owners to measure and monitor data risks within their products and supports reporting for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Cultivate a community of CCB Data Owners through regular forums and effective communications in order to develop deep relationships and facilitate the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and resources.
  • Define requirements for tooling that support the CCB Data Owner required tasks and work with the Data Governance Product to prioritize development, testing, and delivery of those resources.
  • Partner with corporate resources to elevate the Data Owner training curriculum through the development of online course offerings and additional self-paced learning options.
  • Manage direct or matrixed staff to execute specific data-related tasks. Effectively drive teams toward a robust set of execution milestones. Understand and mitigate risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies.


Qualifications
Experience and skills to be successful in this role:

  • 10+ years of industry experience in a data-related field.
  • Experience managing delivery across multiple workstreams with varying timelines, priorities and complexities.
  • Technical knowledge of data management and governance, big data platforms, or data architecture preferred.
  • Experience in strategic or transformational change preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage delivery timelines, and ensure our organization is on track to execute and deliver strategic change that meets our goals.
  • Proven ability to execute via successful internal partnerships with other organizations - with the ability to influence people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions.
  • Structured thinker, effective communicator with excellent written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
