Primary Function:
Zoro is seeking an eCommerce Search Analyst who will report to the Sr. Manager of Search Strategy in support of building and optimizing a top rated search experience across a large product assortment (8M skus and growing) on Zoro.com.
This position will be responsible for reporting on and analyzing search patterns, enhancing searchable content, and identifying and executing on opportunities to improve our search relevancy. This role supports the Search team and will closely collaborate with cross-departmental teams to strengthen our customer navigational experience. This position will work closely with Developers, Data Scientists, Product Information Specialists, Digital Merchandising Managers and the overall Customer Experience team to improve relevancy logic and the search result experience on Zoro.com.
This role involves reporting and data analysis, basic to complex data modeling, collaboration on taxonomy & content management, and optimization/testing of search relevancy logic and features. The role also involves managing targeted projects to support the search team i.e. dive deep into a particular area of interest such as a specific category, specific search method or type, or a type of customer segment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as subject matter expert of search tool sets and be able to execute solutions and troubleshoot problems related to search results
- Analyze web KPIs related to the team's ability to improve the customer experience and movement toward the purchase path and translate findings into project suggestions for continuous improvement
- Monitor Search Performance for a set of categories, brands, and suppliers. Define and execute initiatives to improve search performance for those categories over time in collaboration with Merchandising Managers.
- Partner with Merchandising & Merchandising Enrichment teams to enhance searchable content at scale in order to deliver increasing conversion and search revenue per session
- Monitor Null Search Results for trends and opportunities. Suggest changes to help reduce null results or improve the null search experience.
- Monitor customer feedback to understand pain points & make recommendations for improvement
- Partner with Merchandising to optimize the search experience by monitoring category search trends and performance, improve product data to bring back most relevant results, manage redirects, biasing and facet display
- Provide general assistance with project analysis needs, including data quality and reconciliation, QA and UAT testing phases
- Utilize Google Analytics, SQL, BigQuery and Excel to support and test decisions for relevancy logic enhancements or content enhancements related to search relevancy
- Proactively investigate traffic, conversion, and performance trends using web analytics data or other methods such as ContentSquare, ClickTale, Qualtrix, etc.
Qualifications:
- Experience and excitement to work with with large data sets and tackle complex data manipulation with a formulaic approach using SQL or BigQuery and Python or R
- Attention to detail, with a methodical approach to work
- Self-starter who is comfortable working in an entrepreneurial culture and fast-paced environment.
- Strong, proactive communication skills. Communicates timelines and plans ahead. Provides context and clarity around the "what", "why" and "how"
- Team player who is collaborative and consistently demonstrates curiosity by asking questions, listening and engaging with others
- Proactively seeks feedback, accepts areas of opportunity and excellence and applies feedback to grow. Constructively gives upward, cross-functional and peer feedback
- Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts
- Preferred, but not required:
- Experience with execution and analysis of A/B Testing
- Experience with development of dashboards within Looker or other Business Intelligence Tools
- Experience with onsite search platforms & optimization
