What you'll do...
Job Summary
The Data Architect role is a critical position focused on bring a trusted partner and delivering value through data for Digital Retail. You will use your skills to understand customers' businesses and provide data solutions that solve their challenges. You will ensure proper implementation of data security controls and related standards by having detailed knowledge of enterprise data strategies and governance controls. You will work with technical and business teams to develop standard design patterns which drive consistency and safety in our software solutions. By crafting innovative solutions you will offer solutions which solve critical priorities while maintaining a long term view on business needs.
What You'll Do

  • Design and build cloud-based data solutions for transactional and analytical needs.
  • Collaborate with Technical and Business Leaders to understand strategic and tactical needs, build roadmaps, and architect solutions enabling multiple business products.
  • Be a subject matter expert for data standards and policies and participate in enterprise level data architecture forums.
  • Provide practical solutions that solve business needs.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, providing detailed feedback and alternative solutions.
  • Develop roadmaps, transitional architectures, and detailed solution designs for one or product products supporting both retail and eCommerce needs.


Critical Skills

  • Hands on experience GCP and Azure data services.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Spark, Hadoop, AI/ML and other modern data software solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of architecting data platforms to include the following capabilities: data ingestion, data transformation, data quality, data cataloguing/discovery, data access.
  • Experience designing data lakes, data graphs, and data-centric APIs
  • Broad knowledge of data security best practices and practical implementation techniques.
  • Detailed knowledge of data streaming patterns, ETL/microETL, and other modern data flow patterns.
  • Experience designing Kafka clusters incorporating high availability, resiliency, and scalability needs.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across multiple product, enterprise, and engineering teams.

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 6 years' experience in data engineering, solution architecture, business
intelligence, business analytics or related field. Option 2: 8 years' experience in data engineering, solution architecture, business intelligence,
business analytics or related field. Option 3: Master's degree in Computer Science and 4 years' experience in data engineering, solution
architecture, business intelligence, business analytics or related field.
