Director, UX Data Analytics
The Disney Streaming Data team is seeking a Director of UX Analytics who will be an outstanding leader on our Product & Tech Analytics team.
As the head of UX Analytics at Disney Streaming, you will champion the use of data in improving our customers' quality of experience. You will partner closely with the Product organization to inform and inspire development decisions across the Disney Streaming brands. You will continue to develop and lead a phenomenal team in their exploration of new areas of analysis and promote new methodologies, all to deliver the very best streaming experience to subscribers of Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney's other streaming services.
The right person for this role loves using data to understand human behavior and improve user experience, and has experience developing and spearheading strategic initiatives based on what they observe in the data. If you are someone who is fascinated by how users engage with their video-watching (or you're a fantastic manager who loves learning about totally new spaces), then this is an amazing role for you.
Role can be based in NY, LA, Seattle or SF/Bay Area
Responsibilities :
- Continue to nurture and develop a thriving team of analysts and managers
- Take Disney Streaming's ability to understand and improve user experience to the next level through innovative approaches to understanding user navigation and experience
- Lead all aspects of UX analysis (navigation, new feature development, etc.), partnering with Product Managers, Governance, Data Quality, and Engineering teams as they develop new data sources on performance
- Identify gaps in our existing capabilities and user understanding and partner with upstream teams to develop new data sources
- Deliver concrete recommendations and tooling to drive pivotal business decisions and measurable value
- Lead cross-functional task forces that span across analytics and other data functions to tackle business-critical questions for the Disney Streaming
- Think expansively about where data can better support Product. Translate C-level business priorities into what they mean for the performance of a specific button or interface, and then take those insights right back up to the top
Basic Qualifications :
- Passion for delivering amazing experiences - for your team members, your business partners, and tens of millions of Disney Streaming viewers around the world
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the most valuable places to invest in data and the most actionable questions to ask of it
- A love of learning about new problem areas and fearlessness in asking questions
- Enthusiasm for change as a source of opportunity and innovation
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including experience collaborating across multiple offices with distributed teams
- 6+ years of building and leading a diverse and thriving team with a strong culture and loads of positivity
- 10+ years of proven experience solving challenging, high-impact problems with data
- Significant prior experience with SQL and some experience with Python/R or other statistical programming language
- Strong ability to tell stories with data to audiences diverse in level, background, and level of technical expertise
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with consumer-facing web or mobile products
- Product management or consulting background

Required Education :
- A BA/BS or MA/MS in Computer Science, MIS, Statistics, Mathematics, etc. or equivalent work experience
