Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives (SPI), the Sr Director or Director, Market Intelligence is accountable for generating actionable insights from the cancer early detection market landscape. The role will require deep engagement and alignment with multiple internal cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. commercial, clinical development, R&D, business development and regulatory teams) to drive actionable insights and recommendations. This role is based in Menlo Park though up to 25% travel time may be required.

You Will:

  • Be the central owner of the early detection and liquid biopsy market intelligence, responsible for establishing and maintaining intelligence including early detection product and company profiles, key industry trends, market landscape assumptions, and other key drivers of how the landscapes may evolve
  • Use gathered intelligence to work cross-functionally with key teammates across the organization to develop and generate key recommended responsive strategies and actions. Work as a thought leader within the organization to help contextualize market developments and right-size responses
  • Create and execute a comprehensive market intelligence plan for the collection of insights throughout the year that incorporates key events/dates (e.g., medical congresses, etc.) and data sources to support market intelligence needs. Collaborate closely with relevant GRAIL stakeholders as appropriate for each event
  • Investigate areas of uncertainty and facilitate alignment on key market questions (e.g. early detection activities, adoption, regulatory and policy landscapes)
  • Lead market intelligence projects including industry landscaping, ”red team” exercises, market message monitoring, etc.
  • Proactively communicate market intelligence insights throughout the organization at the appropriate level of detail and cadence: including regular newsletters as well as ad hoc announcements. Appropriately tailor communications as needed for senior leadership
  • Manage external vendors for the collection, analysis, and reporting of market intelligence data and insights. Leverage purchased/licensed data sources including syndicated databases, claims data, analyst reports, aggregation services, and others to supplement external market intelligence data collection
  • Develop and drive processes that facilitate the compliant collection and analysis of primary field-based intelligence; integrate with other data sources with the appropriate context and caveats

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years in competitive intelligence, investment analysis, insights, or management consulting in the life sciences industry
