At Big Health, our mission is to help millions back to good mental health. Our digital therapeutics - Daylight™ for worry and anxiety and Sleepio™ for poor sleep - are fully automated cognitive and behavioral programs that are as scalable and clinically validated as drugs. Our software combines the intimacy of the human voice, engaging animation, and clinically rigorous techniques to help people overcome their mental health challenges.

The Director of Healthcare Value Analytics will report to the Chief Medical Officer and will work closely with Data Science, Research, Medical Affairs, Sales, Client Success, and Finance. You will empower prospective clients, and their actuarial experts and consultants with real-world data analytics and insights to understand the impact Big Health provides for self-funded employers, health plans, and their members. A successful candidate will be a collaborative partner, passionate about changing US healthcare market dynamics, intellectually curious about novel use cases for healthcare data, and an expert on payer-side health care cost and utilization measures. You will be responsible for analyses of client outcomes and health care cost and utilization data and will report results both internally and externally back to clients. This is an exciting opportunity to have a meaningful impact with leaders across the healthcare industry and help shape the future of the company’s value proposition message.

What you'll do:

  • Work with Sales leadership and prospective client actuaries, consultants, and benefits executives on the topic of financial impact and savings.
  • Lead the execution of client specific program impact and savings analytics at scale to meet external needs and present findings to external prospects, current clients and their experts.
  • Provide thought leadership across the company on analytical applications and translations of Big Health’s value to the market.
  • Support quantitative analytics of Big Health’s performance guarantees and at-risk models.
  • Build and manage a growing team of analysts including owning hiring, professional development, and engaged performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with the finance team and deal desk on pricing alignment and financial projections.
  • Master and continuously improve our prospective savings model, benchmark inputs, and value quantification methods including inputs from healthcare claims data, industry benchmarks, digital engagement data, social determinants of health data, and any other interesting data we can access.
  • Drive alignment and understanding across the company on our value proposition methodology and the impact that has on internal KPIs and client reporting.
  • Support data fluency throughout the organization through standardized measurement techniques, compelling business insights, proactively sharing your knowledge of the data with others by means authentic to you and developing and maintaining data documentation for your work and underlying data sources.

What you bring:

  • Deep expertise with healthcare data and experience with healthcare cost/savings modeling
  • Expert data communicator, particularly to non-scientific audiences
  • Ability to proactively identify the data analytics and value reporting needs of the organization and build towards future solutions
  • Applied healthcare actuary, health economics, and/or health program outcomes evaluation and research experience
  • Ability to autonomously design scalable reporting solutions with input from the Clinical and Commercial Org, and leadership in the organization
  • Ability and willingness to learn/develop new data source identification/acquisition, data collection techniques and data analysis tools as needed

  • One or more degrees in actuarial science, economics, business, engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or other quantitative fields
  • 5+ years work experience in various analytical roles (such as healthcare consulting, business intelligence, actuarial science, etc)
  • Experience coaching and mentoring while working cross-functionally with other departments

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

I was hired as a recruiting coordinator and very quickly moved into full-cycle recruiting. That was possible because of the team.
