What You'll Do
You'll provide technical leadership on projects and initiatives while utilizing your advanced practices for establishing metrics and KPI's while driving cross-functional alignment.
In this role, you'll mange end-to-end execution while implementing new systems in a complex technology ecosystem and design strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources. You'll drive the vision and mission of the Cloud Data & Analytics (CDA) group is to give McKinsey colleagues the ability to generate valuable insights through a scalable, highly responsive and value driven data and analytics framework.
You'll interface directly with global business units within McKinsey that can leverage our engineering strengths in terms of competencies to maximize efficiency and output. You'll oversee front-end and back-end development teams and manage their initiatives by setting requirements, goals and timelines within an agile environment. You will utilize your extensive experience with cloud technologies while directly managing several teams with ~50 engineers. You will empower the engineers to make the biggest impact possible while reaching their professional development goals

Who You'll Work With
You will be based in our Waltham or Atlanta office as part of our One Firm Tech Cloud Data and Analytics (CDA) team. You will work with CDA leadership, product managers, software engineers, architects and various platform teams. You'll be part of a team responsible for delivering technology enabled solutions of the future. You will be involved in all business value chain activities from understanding product needs to product development to on-going maintenance and enhancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant experience
• 15+ years of relevant work experience within software engineering
• 4+ years of experience implementing cloud platforms in large organizations
• Previous hands-on experience in the fundamentals of back-end and front-end development
• Experience in designing strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources
• Up to date knowledge of the industry systems and technology related to data engineering
• Experience delivering quality initiatives and capabilities
• Ability to remove obstacles/impediments for team success
• Experience in the recruitment, development and training of engineers
• Ability to implement innovative technologies; demonstrates an action mindset
• Ability to coordinate with internal/external stakeholders for new integrations and tools
• Ability to review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipments
