What you will do:
We are looking for a Director of Data Science to lead our data science team to help improve the apartment rental experience. We will rely on you to coach/develop/grow the team to extract valuable business insights and help develop impactful models to power our products.
You will be responsible for driving insights about our core businesses, working cross-functionally with key business leaders to set business strategy, and driving bottom-line business impact. You will build, own and execute on a long term Data Science strategy by working closely with Engineering & Product teams by understanding their strategy and roadmap. We want to build on key data science competencies as well as build new models to serve new business applications. We also want to see a passion for machine learning, research, and mentorship of junior data scientists.
Responsibilities:

• Manage a growing team of data scientists
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to power our current offerings
• Scale and hire a dedicated team via strategic hiring
• Identify valuable data sources and architect the collection processes
• Present information using data visualization techniques
• Do ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner
• Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
• Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
• Develop / maintain internal A/B testing tools
• Automate scoring using machine learning techniques
• Guide the development of data products used across the organization

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of management experience, including working with cross-functional teams
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science
• Experience in model experimentation and optimization in a production environment
• Experience mentoring data scientists in data aggregation, machine learning techniques, data visualization and experimentation architecture.
• Strong ability to translate between business and technical collaborators
• Analytical mind and business acumen
• Great communication skills
