Director, Data Management Enablement

The Role

We are looking for a Data Management Enablement Leader to join our growing Fidelity Data Architecture - Data Management & Foundation Services chapter. This role will be responsible for expanding and enhancing our Data Management platform and related practices across the Enterprise, as well as optimizing and standardizing capabilities including data governance, catalog, privacy, lineage, and quality in support of Fidelity's Data Strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background with Data Management industry tools and be able to effectively communicate across Fidelity. In addition, this candidate should have knowledge of a successful Data Management platform regarding the people, processes, and technologies required. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company's data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

The Expertise and Skills you Bring

  • Bachelor's in computer science or related field with at least 10 years of relevant experience is desired
  • Extensive exposure to implement Data Management practices including data governance, data catalog, data privacy, data quality and data lineage
  • Extensive experience in leadership/influence and communication/collaboration
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Working experience with Data Governance councils, data owners, data stewards and data custodians
  • Experience leading projects with new/emerging technology and/or products in the early strategy, analysis & design stage.
  • Comfortable using analytical and judgement skills to figure out direction and achievement of goals; keeping key business partners informed on progress.
  • Experience partnering with key business partners and demonstrates forward thinking to drive best-in-breed Enterprise solutions.
  • Good project management and organizational skills. Knowledge of agile methods is a plus.
  • Candidate with experience using the following software/tools will be preferred:
    • Experience with data management tools: Collibra, Alation, BigID, Informatica Manta etc.
    • Experience with cloud related services: AWS - EC2, EMR, Snowflake preferred
    • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc. is a plus

The Team

This role part of the Data Management & Foundation Services chapter will support our data scientists, data analysts, database architects and data engineers on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. This role will be supporting the data needs of multiple data management squads, analytics platform squads, other systems, and products. This role will be critical to designing and implementing right-sized solutions that are available, scalable, and stable.
