We are seeking an experienced data and technology innovator to join our senior leadership team to modernize our data platform and help us maintain our industry-leading position in the real estate market for the years to come.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and planning for data governance initiatives.

  • Collaborate with business unit leaders and key stakeholders to advocate support for and partnership in the development and implementation of policies, standards, and the framework for data governance as well as identify and build a taxonomy of key data domains.

  • Create governance surrounding data management through education, engagement, and alignment with data stakeholders across business units.

  • Design, develop and maintain enterprise-wide data governance metrics to measure the effectiveness of the data governance program. Ensure that metrics include appropriate benchmarks to legal, regulatory, and industry standards. Continually evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of the metrics.

  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal information assets.

  • Implement and maintain a data governance organizational structure and supporting governance solutions that promote better decision-making, operational efficiencies, data quality, and revenue growth.

  • Manage full lifecycle of data including data classification, data access and security, data risk management, and data valuation.

  • Serves as a business consultant on client business problems, identifies data needs and formulates data solutions, creates practical development roadmaps, and presents recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the business.

  • Develops business case and ROI for implementing information governance enterprise wide. Author information governance guidelines, principles, policies, and standards for information / data stewards, stakeholders, and development teams.

  • Orchestrates audits of information governance capabilities through subject matter experts.

  • Prepares formal reports and presentations of findings and recommendations; presents findings to various levels of leadership.

  • Responsible for acquiring and applying advanced knowledge of various lines of the business, channels, and their applications and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in computer science preferred, or relevant technical and data compliance experience

  • 8+ years’ experience in an IT field and data governance, or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Prior management experience is preferred

  • Demonstrates leadership in executing IT plans successfully that enable technical or business capabilities and address technology or business priorities

  • Strong understanding of Regulatory demands, compliance, risk, and Agile/Lean leadership principles

  • Exhibits courage by taking smart risks and encouraging others to do so; empowers innovative approaches by motivating others to be proactive and resourceful

  • Has proven and demonstrated data governance knowledge and skills in one or more technologies or industries

  • Able to apply broad business and technology understanding of internal and external trends and capabilities, to ensure successful implementation of IT plans.

  • Able to communicate a compelling vision and need for change that generates excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to the process

  • Demonstrates strategic and critical thinking capability

  • Interacts with others, internally and externally, in a way that gives them confidence in their intentions and those of the organization

  • Understands the business case for each deliverable undertaken and works with their manager and product owner to help ensure benefits are realized

  • Has strong planning, communication and presentation skills, and the capability to listen and influence
