At FNBO, we realize data plays a critical role in almost every component of our business strategy and our technology strategy. As such, we are expanding our data program, and we are looking for a leader in Data Engineering and Data Product Development.

In this role, you will lead teams who are responsible for all aspects of data analytics engineering; developing, testing, and maintaining the data pipelines that feed business operations, data analytics, and data sciences along with data fulfillment to partners and other 3rd parties. FNBO leverages Snowflake as our Cloud Data Platform, in this role we are looking for a leader with Enterprise Data Warehouse and Cloud experience. This team is also accountable for Data Product Development, a focus is on solutions that help us more effectively ingest, move, govern and deliver our data assets. This data engineering team provides the foundation for data at FNBO. We are searching for a leader with proven track record in collaborating across technology and business teams and talent development.

Job Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Maintain a predictable, transparent operating rhythm that ensures always-on access to high-quality data for stakeholders across the company
  • Responsible for day-to-day data collection, transportation, maintenance/curation and access to the FNBO corporate data asset
  • Participation in understanding Data Governance Policy and ensure compliance to data governance policy
  • Work cross-functionally across the enterprise to centralize data and standardize it for use by business, data science or other stakeholders
  • Collaborating with data leaders and business leaders to develop a data engineering roadmap and participating in regular planning cycles
  • Setting the data engineering and quality strategy that will support our company's goals
  • Communicating the technical vision to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work with key data partners and products to put an intentional focus on purposeful innovation. Connecting FNBO needs and roadmaps to potential solutions. Committing time to POC work, etc.
  • Building and inspiring a high performing organization of engineers and creating an inclusive culture
  • Increase awareness about available data and democratize access to it across the company (Data Literacy)
  • Setting the standards for data engineering best practices and helping the team develop good engineering practices
  • Participating in decisions about where to invest in our engineering tools and systems and when to buy vs build

Leadership Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Optimization

  • Responsible for establishing and reporting on goals, strategies, key performance metrics, and plans necessary to execute the strategy and to maximize the value of technology.
  • Determine, manage, and forecast resource needs and availability.
  • Build talent development plans around emerging technologies to enable our teams to continuously improve, automate and make room to elevate their work
  • Ensure that budget expenses are regularly tracked, operational expenses are minimized, and capital investments and platforms are utilized effectively and efficiently.

Products and Innovation

  • Do more and be more nimble with innovation - budgeting and protecting time to do innovation. Leads and Architects will drive, but the teams execute and need bandwidth to do the R&D. Key areas of focus: Snowflake, Informatica, ODS (Preference Center)
  • Drive change and influence across teams

Customer Focus

  • Ensure that day to day operational needs and projects are equally met to timely serve the current and future needs of our teammates and customers
  • Understands and anticipates needs and takes action to provide high quality products and services to exceed their expectations

  • Works in partnership with others across the organization to accomplish goals
  • Responsible for building strong relationships and collaborative partnerships within the organization to understand the business opportunities and challenges.

Adaptability and Initiative

  • Recognizes and is open to changing circumstances and alters behaviors as necessary
  • Self-Starter, recognizes what needs to be done and acts
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices for comparison to current enterprise state to identify opportunities for improvement.

Developing Talent

  • Establish a positive and collaborative team environment that inspires creative, high performing, continuous learning, and engaged team members.
  • Develop team members through coaching, training and development, opportunities, and on-going performance feedback, including timely follow-up on individual development plans; counsel team members on performance issues.
  • Responsible for attracting, selecting, and on-boarding a diverse and qualified team and determining the appropriate team resource requirements to meet the strategic direction.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum education- bachelor's degree in a related field

7+ years' technical experience managing complex technology services

Experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions and Cloud

Technical experience working with data as an asset in software development or database administration

5+ years of IT leadership and management experience.

2-3 years of working in Cross Functional Teams and collaborating with business stakeholders
