The Role

The Customer Data Technology group within Fidelity's Personal Investing (PI) organization is seeking a Director of Data Engineering to build the next generation Customer Data Platform - Unified Customer Profile (UCP). Our team provides data capabilities to personalize incredible customer experiences and develop solutions that drive a lifetime of engagement.

You will be collaborating with multiple stakeholders across business units to understand existing experiences and customer data pain points, develop data capabilities, and come up with end-to-end solutions to onboard new and existing experiences to the new capabilities.

The Expertise and skills you bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required.
  • Phenomenal understanding of logical and physical data models
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining data capabilities and APIs at scale
  • Experience with operational databases - Relational and NoSQL.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture
  • Experience in working in highly complex data platforms and exposing capabilities via APIs
  • Experience with messaging technologies like Kafka
  • Experience in DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience in developing capabilities and platforms in the Cloud.
  • Ability to think out of box and design end-to-end solutions
  • Passion and intellectually curiosity to learn new technologies and business areas
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both through written and verbal channels
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organization
