Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Coordinate changes to computer databases. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases. Provide system performance tuning and SQL tuning. Perform backups and recovery for systems. Trouble-shoot user connectivity issues as well as trouble-shooting role based access issues. Conduct disaster recovery tests on systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in any field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Database Management, Database Operations, Systems Executive, Database Administrator, Consultant (IT), or related occupation. Employer will accept a 3 or 4-year Bachelor's degree in any field of study.
Skills Required: Requires one (1) year of experience in the following: SQL; Teradata Active System Management (TASM); Teradata ETL utilities FastLoad, MultiLoad, and BTEQ; Teradata Query Grid; Teradata Data Dictionary; DBC views; RDBMS concepts dealing with roles and grants;Teradata Viewpoint; Unix performance utilties such as sar and netstat; and Unix Shell scripting.
