Detailed Description
Design, implement and administer multiple MS SQL Server databases for security, performance, high availability and disaster recovery with HADR solutions including Clustering, Mirroring, and Standalone. Tune queries, troubleshoot performance issues and perform database capacity planning. Support APP upgrades and implement Changes as needed while adhering to Change Management Policies and Standards. Leverage native and 3rd party tools for Change Management, Vulnerability Management, Backup Solutions, Automated Patching Solutions, Code Repository, Database Performance Tuning, Application Performance Tuning, Database Monitoring and Alerting, Code deployment, and VMWare VROPS/ VSphere. Provide technical leadership, mentor other team members on database technology and database advanced features. Participate in 24x7 operations support for technical support. Job Requirements
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or related field and 3 years of database administration experience that includes: Installation, configuration, and administration of SQL Server; HADR solutions including Clustering (SQL AO, WSFC) and Mirroring; Database tuning using DTA, Profiler, Performance Monitor and Activity Monitor; Monitoring and troubleshooting database performance using T-SQL and PowerShell scripting; Database capacity planning and performance tuning; and Using 3rd party tools including BigFix, Foglight, Dynatrace, Zenoss, CommVault, VMWare VROPS/VSphere, ServiceNow, Kenna and Jenkins. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or related field and 5 years of progressive experience in database administration as specified above are acceptable.
