The Role

We have an ambitious roadmap to delight our customers and we are building fully integrated cloud software automation tools using modern frameworks. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for designing/maintaining data platforms for the core application. You’ll join a collaborative, multi-functional team and partner with other engineers to guide key platform and infrastructure decisions to enable Circulo’s multi-year roadmap to deliver transformational customer experiences.

What you'll do

• Perform database administrator functions such as design/configure database operational structures per application functional and operational requirements, monitor and tune databases to meet operational performance and capacity requirements
• Lead the architectural design of core transaction data infrastructure, guiding key platform and tooling decisions to best enable a wide variety of use cases, from app support to integrations
• Competencies and Knowledge Demonstrated experience with several data base technologies, such as MS SQL Server RDBMS, PostgreSQL, Databricks
• Work closely with and support a dedicated team of engineers to help implement and evolve the data platform and infrastructure
• Apply technical knowledge to architect solutions that meet business needs
• Ensure that solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment
• Build prototypes to determine feasibility when warranted
• Guide and contribute to DevOps development activities, as needed

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands-on development experience building data pipelines using multiple database technologies with a focus on Big Data and real-time streaming technology stack
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Deep expertise in both traditional data warehousing and modern cloud-based data lake design
• Proven track record of architecting large-scale data pipelines expertly and have experience with technologies like Airflow, Kafka, Kubernetes, and similar
• Manage data monitoring and alerting tools to provide more visibility about scalability and performance metrics.
• Able to design and understand complex architectures, including service-oriented and event-driven architectures; AI/ML and graph-based technologies and design patterns are a plus
• Practical knowledge and working experience in enterprise-scale big data solution architecture, with at least one leading on-prem or cloud Hadoop distribution (Cloudera, Hortonworks, Databricks or AWS, Azure, Google)
• Experience in designing and building integrations between multiple on-premises and/or cloud-hosted systems
• Stay abreast of current and emerging technologies and trends, and advise on how they can be used to support business and technology objectives
• Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively within matrices
